Find a comfortable position.
You can lie or sit.
Let your hands rest open in your lap or at your sides.
Allow your eyes to close gently without forcing them shut.
Just arrive here.
Take one long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and let it go slowly out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in,
Drawing the breath all the way down into your belly and release slowly,
Completely,
Nothing held back.
Breathe this way one more time.
This breath is a signal to your body.
It says,
I am safe.
I can soften.
I am here.
Breathe in and let go.
Now simply allow your breath to follow its natural rhythm.
There's no need to control it.
Your body knows how to do this.
And turn your attention now to the weight of you.
The places where your body touches the chair,
The floor,
Or even the earth beneath you.
Feel that contact and let it hold you.
You can relax.
You don't have to hold yourself up now because you are held and you are safe.
Imagine you're standing at the entrance of a labyrinth.
It stretches before you,
Ancient and quiet.
The path is made of smooth stone,
Worn by countless footsteps that came before yours.
On either side,
Low walls of moss and earth and above you,
Open sky.
It is dusk.
The light is soft and golden,
The kind that makes everything feel slightly more sacred.
You look down on yourself as you stand at the entrance and you notice what you are carrying.
It may be a heaviness that you've carried for so long that you've forgotten it was there.
Or maybe it's a question with no answer.
Or a deep grief that never quite healed.
It could be a version of yourself that you're still trying to fix.
Or a quiet,
Persistent belief that something in you is incomplete,
That you are not quite enough.
That sovereignty,
That deep,
Unshakable sense of your own authority and wholeness is something that's still outside of you.
Something you still need to earn.
You don't need to name it.
Just feel the weight of it.
Because this is what you have brought to the entrance.
And the labyrinth receives you exactly as you are.
So you take your first step on the path into the labyrinth.
And you notice that the path curves gently.
You follow it without effort,
Without needing to know where it leads.
Because there is only one path here.
You cannot get lost.
You're simply asked to walk.
And with each step,
Notice your breath.
In and out.
In and out.
And as you walk,
You begin to notice something else.
The stories you've been telling yourself.
The ones about who you are and what is lacking and what you've done wrong.
As you move further into the labyrinth,
These stories have grown quieter.
Not because they've been suppressed or resisted.
But because something else is becoming present.
There's another energy beneath these stories.
It's a quality of awareness that does not argue or defend or diminish.
It simply observes steadily without judgment.
This is the first whisper of what you came here to find.
As you keep walking,
The path curves again.
You're moving closer to the center now.
Even though you still have not arrived.
And with each turn in the path,
Allow one layer to be released of what you've been carrying.
Just lay it down at the intersection and don't force it away.
Allow your hands to open a little wider and your breath to drop a little deeper.
Your shoulders soften towards the earth.
And you pass through a long curving stretch of path.
The light is changing.
The gold is deepening.
The air feels different here.
Stiller.
Warmer.
As though the labyrinth itself is breathing with you.
As you walk,
You begin to feel something in the center of your chest.
A warmth.
A softening.
As though something has been tightly held for a very long time.
And it's now beginning slowly to uncurl.
There's nothing you need to do with this feeling.
Just let it be.
And keep walking.
Now you notice the path has opened.
And you step into the center of the labyrinth.
It's a circle of open ground.
Wide and still.
The stone beneath your feet is smooth and warm.
And the sky has deepened to a luminous violet.
The first stars are appearing.
And as you stand here in the center,
You feel it.
You feel it.
A presence.
Not outside of you.
Not above you.
Not waiting for you to be better or worthy or less broken.
It's already here.
It's already within you.
And it has always been within you.
You've just forgotten.
But now you can feel it.
This presence.
This divine love.
And it's love that has been with you.
Not the kind of love you have to earn.
Or not the kind of love that's conditional.
Or love that measures your worth against your performance.
This love simply is.
It's vast and warm and completely without any conditions or expectations.
So just bask in this love for a moment.
Place one hand gently on your heart.
And feel your own heartbeat beneath your palm.
That rhythm is not accidental.
That pulse is the sound of life choosing you again and again with every beat of your heart.
You were not born broken.
You were born as an individual aspect of divine love.
Let that land.
This is what sovereignty really is.
Not confidence or certainty or the absence of fear,
Doubt or struggle.
Sovereignty is what remains when you stop believing the stories that said you were less.
It's not something you achieve.
It's not a destination you finally reach after enough work or healing or becoming.
Sovereignty is the lived experience of divine love.
Let that truth settle.
Allow yourself to feel the lived experience of divine love.
While you are standing in the center of the labyrinth.
In the stillness where everything that is not true about you is quiet.
So you can hear what is true about you.
Receive this now receive it fully.
Receive it the way the earth receives the rain openly and completely without question.
Breathe it in.
Let it fill the places in you that have felt empty or hollow.
Allow it to soften the places that have felt hard.
Let it reach the parts of you that you have kept hidden.
The tender places the ashamed places.
The areas you were certain disqualified you from seeing this and being this.
Love has already seen those places and accepted them.
Because you are not here to become sovereign.
You are here to remember that you always have been sovereign.
And when you're ready feel your feet again on the warm stone of the labyrinth center.
You are about to walk back the way you came.
The same path with the same curves and turns.
But you are not the same.
And so you say thank you to the center of the labyrinth.
And breathe in sovereignty once more.
And then you begin to walk.
And as you move through each turn of the path outward.
You notice that what you are carrying now has changed.
Not because your life is different.
There are still questions.
There is still grief.
And the complexity of the world you are returning to is still exactly as you left it.
That you are meeting it from a different place now.
You are meeting it from the center.
And with each step feel love moving with you.
Not as a feeling but as the ground you are walking on.
Steady beneath you and present in every step.
This is sovereignty in motion.
Embodied,
Alive,
Part of you now.
Walk slowly and feel sovereignty walking with you.
Walking as you.
And when someone challenges you,
Sovereignty has no need to defend herself.
She simply knows what she knows.
Which is she is always held in divine love.
And when fear arises,
Sovereignty does not argue with it.
She breathes it in and returns it to love.
And when the world grows loud and divided and insistent that you choose a side and hold it at all costs,
Sovereignty remembers there is always a deeper authority available.
One that no argument can reach and no noise can drown out.
It's the voice within.
The voice of love.
Your voice now.
You can see the entrance of the labyrinth.
The place where you began.
And you remember what you were carrying when you arrived.
And you notice that you still may carry some of it.
Life does not dissolve simply because love is present.
But now you know the difference between what you carry and who you are.
You may carry questions or history.
You carry the beautiful complicated weight of being human.
But who you are is love.
You are sovereign.
You are whole.
And you are already complete.
And so you step through the entrance.
And you bring everything you found at the center of the labyrinth back into the world with you.
And so bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel the weight of you in your seat or the ground holding you.
Feel the temperature of the air on your skin.
And the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
Wiggle your fingers slowly and your toes.
And when you're ready,
Take one full deep breath in.
And as you exhale slowly,
Allow your eyes to open softly.
Welcome back.
You did not find anything new today.
Instead,
You remembered something ancient.
Sovereignty is not a destination you travel toward.
It is the truth of who you are.
Beneath every story,
Every fear,
Every layer of certainty or doubt that you have ever accepted or created.
You are an individual aspect of divine love.
Choosing now to live from that truth.
And that is the most revolutionary choice available.
Carry it with you today.
And remember it always.
To your sovereign presence,
This is Katherine Erickson of Empowered Way.
Be well.
