Beautiful.
Let's begin today's meditation with a deep breath in and a full exhale out.
Let's begin today's meditation rooting down,
Connecting to the earth.
Visualize roots growing from the soles of your feet and allow these roots to grow wide.
Allow them to grow deep.
As we tether ourselves to the earth,
We feel safe.
In this current life we live,
We spend so much time in our busy head,
Thinking,
Creating,
Interpreting,
Conjuring.
And as this is all good,
And it meets the demands of our work and going to school,
In doing so,
We have lost our connection to our bodies.
We have forgotten that we have bodies.
And so today's meditation brings us back into our bodies.
And we start by coming back to our breath,
Breathing in deeply,
Letting go fully.
And draw your breath deep into the belly.
And as you do,
Bring your full awareness to how your body receives this breath.
As you draw that breath in,
Soften your body,
Allow it to relax.
Exhale out,
Softening a bit more.
Today we bring our awareness to our body,
And we'll start by noticing our feet.
I want you to feel the soles of your feet.
Can you bring your full awareness to the soles of your feet?
Are you able to notice the space between the toes?
Notice your ankles.
Bring your attention to your shins.
Can you feel your knees?
Can you feel the back of the knee,
The sides?
Can you feel the space beneath the kneecap?
How spacious this can feel.
Now bring your awareness to your upper legs,
Your thighs.
Notice how big the muscles are.
Feel how strong your bones are.
Bring your attention to your sit bones,
Your pelvis,
Your hips.
Can you bring your full awareness to your belly,
To your core?
Maybe you can notice the belly rising and falling as you breathe in and out.
Bring your awareness to the back of your body,
The lower back,
Your tailbone.
Notice your spine.
If you bring your full awareness to the spine,
You can feel the space between the vertebrae.
Notice the space between your vertebrae.
Bring your awareness up to the shoulders and let them drop down,
Soften them.
Bring your awareness to your chest and settle into your heart,
Your sweet,
Tender heart.
In this moment,
Pay attention to your entire body,
Your amazing body.
We drop out of our busy minds and we drop into our busy,
Amazing body,
Your amazing body.
And bring your attention back into your feet and remember how we allowed roots to grow deep.
Tethering us to the earth,
Begin to draw those roots back up into the soles of your feet.
And as you pull those roots back up,
You take with them a bit of earth wisdom.
And you become a bit wiser,
A little closer to nature.
Bring your awareness back to your breath,
Drawing it deep into the belly.
And when you can no longer hold on to that breath,
Release it back out.
