In our current lifestyle,

We spend much time in our head.

We spend time thinking and creating.

We spend our time interpreting and conjuring.

And as this is all good,

And it meets the demands of work and of school,

In doing so,

We have lost our connection to our bodies.

We have become so focused on our thinking mind that we have forgotten that we even have a body.

And so this meditation brings us back into our body.

And we begin with our breath.

And draw the breath deep into your belly.

Bring your full awareness to how your body receives this breath.

And as you do,

Soften your body.

Allow the body to relax as you draw this breath in.

And bring your awareness to your feet.

Bring your awareness to the soles of your feet.

And see if you can feel the space between your toes.

Can you notice how the tops and the sides of the feet feel?

Now notice your ankles.

Bring your full awareness to your ankles.

Notice your shins.

Feel your knees.

Can you notice the space that lives in the joint of the knee?

How about your thighs?

Bring your awareness to your thighs,

To the muscles and bones that are in this space.

Bring your awareness to your sit bones,

Your pelvis,

Your hips,

The belly.

Bring your full awareness to your belly,

To your core.

Notice your lower back.

Take time to notice your lower back.

Now visualize your spine moving from the lower back all the way up through the body until it connects to the neck and the head.

Bring your awareness to all the spaces between the vertebrae,

The ones that exist in the spine.

Now bring your full awareness to the front of the body,

The chest.

And I wonder if you can soften this space,

Settling into your heart,

Softening the heart.

Feel the shoulder blades.

Allow them to drop away from the ears.

Bring awareness to your entire body.

And we'll stay here for a few moments,

Bringing our awareness to our amazing body.

And let's decide in this moment to set the intention to come back to our bodies throughout the day.

When your job,

When school,

When social media keeps you up in your head space,

Balance that with time in your body,

Your amazing body.

Namaste.
