Allowing your body to unwind and to release any tension that it may be holding.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in,
Allowing your abdomen to expand and exhale gently,
Letting go of any worries or distractions.
With each breath,
Feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation.
Now,
Direct your awareness to the crown of your head.
Imagine a warm,
Soothing light gently touching the top of your head.
This light signifies relaxation and healing.
As it moves slowly down,
Let this light cascade over your forehead,
Softening any lines of tension.
Feel the muscles in your forehead and temples relax,
Melting away stress and fatigue.
Allow the light to continue its journey,
Moving down to your eyes and to your cheeks.
Feel your eye muscles relax,
Letting go of any strain or tightness.
Sense the softness spreading across your face,
Easing any furrowed brows or clenched jaws.
Let go of any lingering stress,
Allowing your face to become a serene and peaceful reflection of your inner state.
Bring your attention now to your neck and shoulders.
Notice any areas of tightness or discomfort and allow the warm light to totally envelop the shoulders.
Visualise the light dissolving any knots or tension,
Gently easing them,
And releasing them as it flows down your arms.
Feel the weight of your arms becoming lighter as your muscles relax completely,
Releasing the burdens of the day.
Allow the soothing light to travel further down,
Reaching your chest and your heart centre.
As it arrives,
Feel a sense of warmth and compassion enveloping your heart.
Breathe deeply into this area,
Allowing it to expand with each breath,
Filling your whole being with love and acceptance.
Let go of any self criticism or judgement and allow your heart to be at peace.
Continue to guide the light down to your abdomen,
Releasing any tightness or discomfort in this area.
Feel your breath nourishing and energising your entire body as you sink deeper into relaxation.
Let any tension or stress melt away as the warm light washes over your hips,
Thighs and legs,
All the way down to your toes.
Take a moment to scan your body as a whole,
Noticing any lingering areas of tension.
If you discover any,
Gently send the healing light to those places,
Allowing them to release and release and relax completely.
Embrace a sense of gratitude for the journey your body has taken you on,
And for its resilience and its strength.
As we conclude this body scan,
Take a moment to acknowledge the shifts that have occurred within you.
Notice the sense of calm and balance that has settled into your body and mind.
Remember that you have the power to return to this state of peace whenever you need it.
