Hello and thank you for joining me for this meditation.
My name is Corrine and I invite you to lay down or find a comfortable seat,
Any position that suits you best today.
Make any wiggles that will help you get settled in.
Close your eyes and take a long deep breath in through the nose and exhale softly out the mouth.
Breathe in nice and deep through the nose and exhale as you release out the mouth.
Feeling your body relax a little bit more with every breath out.
Feel your body becoming a little heavier as you release any tension.
And here bring your awareness inward and bring your focus to your belly.
At your belly imagine a gentle glowing sunshine just like the winter sunshine resting at the centre of your belly.
This golden warmth radiates softly filling you with comfort.
With every breath in you feel the warmth of the sun expanding and spreading a soothing glow throughout your body.
With every exhale you release any tension or tightness letting it all melt away.
Inhale the beautiful soothing golden glow and exhale tension melts away from the body letting go of any heaviness.
From your stomach you feel the golden light travel up through your chest.
You breathe the light up to your chest and it softens your heart centre.
The light relaxes your shoulders,
Your arms and your hands all the way to your fingertips.
And allow the warmth of the sun to expand from your belly down into your hips,
Your thighs,
Your legs and flow all the way to your toes.
Feel your entire body resting bathing in this gentle radiant warmth cocooned in the soft light of the winter sun.
Here there is nothing you need to do,
Nowhere you need to go.
Just allow yourself to rest in the calm in your sanctuary held by this peaceful energy.
And as we are here in the winter you might want to bring to mind some of your favourite things from the festive season.
Maybe the sound of shared laughter,
The scent of your favourite candle,
Your favourite hot drinks,
The cosiness of being wrapped in a blanket just as you might be right now.
And let each thought fill your heart just like the sun's gentle rays warming you from the inside out.
Maybe it even brings a little smile to your face.
You might want to set an intention for the weeks ahead like a guiding light to help carry you through the festive season.
Maybe to choose gratitude,
Find gratitude in the simplest moments,
To be more present,
To cherish times with loved ones or writing a lovely message in your Christmas card.
Choose an intention that feels right for you,
That fills your heart.
And allow yourself to rest here as you take your slow nourishing breath,
Feeling the warmth of the season in your body,
Breathing it in and every exhale you shine a little brighter.
Allow yourself to rest and completely let go.
And please do stay here for as long as it suits you,
But when you are ready gently begin to deepen the breath.
With every exhale please soften,
Relax,
Breathe in the calm and breathe out,
Feel your whole body relax that little bit more.
