Hello and welcome to your 10-step journey to your garden of calm.
This is the perfect meditation if you just want to switch off,
Relax or maybe if you want to fall to sleep.
So get yourself comfortable sitting or laying however you like.
I do think laying would be best for this meditation.
So get yourself comfy.
Just taking a moment to settle in and feel your body as it lays heavy,
Soft and still.
Let your eyes close and bring your awareness to your breath,
Not changing it in any way,
Just noticing and observing the natural rise and the natural fall of the breath.
In your mind's eye,
Begin to imagine a staircase appearing before you.
This staircase is outside in the great outdoors.
It winds down through nature and every step draws you closer and closer to a secret garden just for you,
A place where the noise of the world fades away.
Every step down relaxes your mind and your body more and more.
There are 10 steps down to your secret garden of calm.
You step on the first stair.
You feel a gentle warmth beneath your feet,
Beneath your bare feet and above sunlight filters through the soft green leaves.
The air is fresh.
Your journey begins.
Step nine,
Another step down.
A breeze moves through the trees.
Your shoulders melt.
Your breath softens.
Step eight,
You hear birds singing in the distance.
Tension melts away from your body,
Leaving only calmness.
Step seven,
A breeze gently brushes past,
Carrying away thoughts and leaving quiet,
Letting your mind settle.
Step six,
A small stream appears besides the stairs.
Water flows gently over the stone.
The sound of the water trickling soothes your mind and your body.
Step five,
You're halfway there.
The scent of flowers greets you.
The scent of lavender,
Rose and jasmine.
The fragrances help your mind to completely relax.
Step four,
Petals float in the air.
Soft colours swirl like a dream.
Your body feels heavy,
Grounded and safe.
Step three,
Your feet meet the soft grass as your staircase turns into air.
You're nearly there.
Step two,
You begin to see the heart of the garden.
A peaceful and open space,
Surrounded by tall trees and wild flowers.
Step one,
The garden welcomes you.
You have arrived and you are home in the secret garden of calm.
Here everything is so peaceful.
Here you can rest.
Let your breath be gentle like a breeze moving through the leaves.
Breathe in the scent of the blossoms.
Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Feel the calm and hear the hum of life around you.
Hear the hum of nature.
There's nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
Just relax and let yourself be held by this garden.
Feel your body and your mind completely relaxing and allow yourself to let go.

Begin to deepen your breath.
But as you do awaken,
Carry the calm back with you.
