So taking a comfortable pose in which you can be both concentrated and relaxed,
Just feeling the contact to the floor,
To your cushion,
Relaxing any obvious areas of tension,
And connecting with your breath in your heart,
Inhaling into the heart,
And exhaling from the heart into the body.
Taking a few inhalations and exhalations into the heart and from the heart spreading the breath into the body.
And then letting a symbol arise in the space that represents trust,
Compassion.
It can be anything really,
It can be a source of light,
It can be a religious figure like Maria or Jesus or Buddha,
Guan Yin,
Tara,
It could be your grandmother or a person you know that represents a deep sense of trust,
Grounding,
Equanimity.
And connecting with that symbol and imagining that from them,
From that light source,
Whatever you're imagining,
That quality of trust is flowing into your heart as you inhale.
And as you exhale,
It's spreading into your body.
Inhaling the trust.
And exhaling,
Maybe it's only spreading into your heart area first.
With every exhale,
It may root a little deeper into your system.
With each inhalation,
You're taking in this light,
This trust,
The healing power into yourself.
And with every exhalation,
This energy is distributed into your cells and your entire organism.
And as you breathe into your heart and spread that trust into your entire system,
Perhaps you will feel that the source of trust now resides in your own heart.
That you are this light.
You are this image.
This trust is inside of you.
Stay with us.
Breath into your heart,
Spreading it into your system.
And if it feels appropriate to you,
You can take a breath to inhale that which separates you from the trust,
The doubt,
The fear of suffering,
The worry,
The experiences from the past,
The uncertainty.
You may inhale that for a moment and then exhale the trust into your system.
And then going back to inhaling the trust and exhaling,
Spreading it into your system.
And if it feels appropriate,
Again,
You can inhale the obstacles that separate you from your inner sense of trust,
Trusting your heart,
Your inner wisdom.
And then exhaling the trust into your body and reconnecting with that light and inhaling the trust again and exhaling it into your body.
And you can take a few more rounds.
If it feels appropriate to you,
Inhale that which separates you from the trust so you can really know it,
Your fear,
Your doubt,
Your uncertainty,
Experiences from the past.
And then exhaling the trust that comes from your heart.
It's like you're converting the obstacle into a wholesome quality of trust through your breath.
And then reconnecting with the trust,
Maybe reconnecting with the source,
That symbol of wisdom,
Trust,
And compassion.
And inhaling into your heart and exhaling into your whole body.
If you almost feel like you're inhaling that trust so deeply,
It's now flowing not only into your body from your heart,
But all the way out to those who need that trust and the confidence who need you to be trustful,
Stable,
Equanimous,
Compassionate.
Inhaling,
Filling your cup,
And exhaling,
Depending on how you feel,
Just spreading it to your body or maybe spreading it out.
And stay deeply connected,
Either with that symbol right next to you or the symbol that's now become part of your heart.
So you can really feel the presence of this trust as you breathe into your heart and out from your heart.
And for the last few moments,
Letting all the images go,
And resting in open awareness,
Like you're standing on the top of a mountain and you're looking into the far distance,
And just breathing in and out into this all-widened,
Open space.
And maybe you open that spaciousness,
Feel that quality of open awareness.
Maybe there's a quality of compassion or conditional love.
Staying for a few more moments in that openness,
That spaciousness of potentiality in which all things manifest.
Stay,
Disappear.
Trust the luminous nature of your own mind.
It is home,
As the Buddha said.
