Welcome,
My name's Christian and I'm delighted to have the chance to guide you through some breathwork today.
Today we're going to do some 4,
7 and 8 breathing techniques.
It's a very simple and accessible practice,
But ultimately it's very effective as well.
So we're going to use the nose ideally,
But if you can't today,
Just use the mouth.
We're going to inhale through the nose to a count of four.
Breathing into the belly,
Chest expanding.
You're then going to hold those inflated lungs to a count of seven.
Then we're going to exhale,
Ideally through the nose,
Emptying the lungs slowly to a count of eight.
So try not to drop all the breath quickly and then struggle to get to eight.
Try and control the release all the way from one down to eight and then we repeat the breath.
Inhaling for four,
Holding for 7 and then exhaling for 8.
At any stage,
If it becomes too much,
Just release your breath back to your natural rhythm.
Before we start this practice,
I'd encourage you just to read the description again,
Just to make sure that it's accessible.
You're going to find that for the large majority it is,
And you can modify it in any way that works for you.
So just take time now to get comfortable.
Any seated or lying posture if you're not able to sit today.
Start to close the eyes or have a soft gaze.
Adjust your position in any way that makes it more comfortable.
And then follow the next gentle breath into the centre of you.
Let yourself feel.
Noticing how you feel physically.
And emotionally.
Noticing how your natural breath may mirror back to how you're feeling.
In its depth,
Its rhythm,
Its fluidity.
A simple technique of checking in with ourselves before we start any practice.
This enables us to understand.
Where we're starting from.
And where we may finish at,
At the end of the practice.
When you're ready.
I invite you now to exhale into the lungs as quickly as you can.
Using the nose,

Now just release your breath to its natural rhythm.
And feel.
Like a stone being dropped into still water.
That's you.
Let the ripples explore that amazing body.
Noticing how your breath may have changed in its depth,
Its rhythm.
Fluidity.
Nothing but you.
And the gentle movement.
Of those effortless breaths.
When you're ready,
Slowly flicker your eyes open.
Smile at this feeling of calm and balance within you.
The light to me sees and salutes the light within you.
Namaste.
Please take your time.
Thank you so much for joining me and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
