Hello beautiful soul,
And welcome to this guided meditation that will help wrap you up in a blanket of warmth and love so that you can embrace this season of winter and receive its invitation to get still,
Slow down,
And take the time to replenish your inner world.
First,
As the French philosopher Albert Camus said,
In the depths of winter I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
So let's go within today and touch the light within you that can never be dimmed.
When we stay present to what is right now,
With where we are right now,
We sit in the light of acceptance and struggle falls away.
This presence is the light within.
I'm so glad you're here,
Dear one.
Get yourself comfortable.
You may wish to sit in a chair supported with pillows or perhaps lie on the floor surrounded by blankets.
Whatever you need,
Get yourself as cozy as possible and then whenever you're ready,
Gently allow your eyes to close.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in and a slow,
Soft breath out.
Let your body know that it is being invited to slow down.
Let your mind know it is being invited to get still.
No pressure,
No insistence,
Just a tender invitation to body and mind to sink into the arms of this space you have created for yourself.
With each gentle breath,
Let your body and mind fall back deeper and deeper into the embrace of this present moment.
Take your time here.
Here,
Right now,
Is offering you this precious time to yourself.
Bring your attention to the inhale as it passes in through your nose and to the exhale as it passes out through your nose.
Stay in the noticing of each inhale and each exhale through your nose.
Really notice your chest and belly rising and expanding on the inhale and really notice your chest and belly just falling ever so gracefully on the exhale and feel your body really begin to sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Feeling your body becoming more and more still and feel your energy winding down and flowing more and more slowly.
Bringing even more of you,
Every muscle,
Bone,
Every cell,
Every thought and all of your energy,
The physical and non-physical collective that is you,
To come together to meet this present moment and this space that you occupy right now.
Let your slow and gentle breathing continue to hold you here in the tender embrace of this present moment and now feel into the sense of the dark space that is not you,
But that is all around you.
Beginning with your feet,
Feel into the meeting place of where your feet make contact with the dark space that envelops them.
Now,
Like a thick and heavy blanket,
Let your attention draw this blanket up and over the rest of your body.
From your feet,
Draping over your legs,
Up and over your hips and belly,
Surrounding your chest and shoulders,
And then lightly resting over your neck,
Your head and face.
Feel this gentle soft blanket of darkness,
Like a protective cocoon,
Holding you here even more in the stillness of this present moment and lovingly and softly and tenderly continue to breathe.
Bring your attention to your heart space and as you continue to breathe in and out,
Fill your heart space with each breath.
Feel a sense of warm,
Glowing light emanating from your heart space.
Let the darkness that wraps around you call forth the light in your chest.
Notice the glow expanding and brightening as it meets the darkness.
Let it expand from your chest and radiate throughout your body,
Filling your entire body with this warm,
Glowing light.
It is the darkness that allows this light to be seen.
It is the lack of warmth of the sun that allows nature to adapt and bend and flow with the rhythm of the seasons.
The shorter days signal to the horse that it is time to grow a thick coat.
The longer days signal to the bear that it is time to fuel up and hole up.
It is the canvas of the night sky that allows the stars to paint their brilliance across it.
It is the darkness that envelops you now that allows you to reconnect with the magnificent light within you.
Welcome this light.
Welcome this season.
Welcome this absence of light as it reminds you that your presence is light itself.
Rest here as you continue to feel the light that is you glowing in the darkness that surrounds you.
Take as long as you need to,
If you wish to.
And then whenever you're ready,
Come back to the room and gently open your eyes.
I hope this meditation helped you connect to the light within you and to feel gratitude for the blessings of stillness,
Silence,
And slowing down that the winter season and the shortest days offer you.
Thank you so much for listening,
Dear one.
Have a beautiful day.
