Hey everyone.
Welcome to this week's update.
This week I want to talk about an idea that comes up a lot in the work of Dr.
Joe Dispenza.
And it's a simple but genuinely powerful reframe.
The idea is this.
Energy influences matter,
Not the other way around.
Now most of us live our lives as though it's the reverse.
We wait for something in our physical world,
Our circumstances,
Our environment,
Our body to change before we allow ourselves to feel differently.
We think.
Once things settle down,
Then I'll feel calm.
Once my situation improves,
Then I'll feel good.
We let matter dictate our energy.
Dispenser flips this around.
His argument,
Drawing on ideas from quantum physics and neuroscience,
Is that everything is fundamentally energy first.
Your thoughts carry an electrical charge.
Your emotions carry a magnetic charge.
Together they create an energetic field around you.
And that field,
That energy,
Is what begins to shape your physical reality.
In other words,
You don't wait for your life to change to feel a certain way.
You generate the feeling first,
And the change follows.
Let's just repeat that.
You generate the feeling first and the change follows.
The practical version of this is what he calls living in the end.
Feeling the emotion of your future,
The outcome you want,
Before there's any physical evidence for it.
You become the energy of the thing you want to create,
Rather than waiting for it to show up.
So how does breathwork fit into all of this?
This is where it gets really interesting because breath is one of the most direct tools we have for changing our energetic state on demand.
You can't just decide to feel calm or elevated,
But you can breathe your way there.
The breath is the bridge between the mind and the body.
The lever that lets us shift our state deliberately rather than waiting for the world to shift it for us.
When we slow down the breath,
Long,
Low,
Into the belly,
Through the nose,
We move out of fight or flight,
Survival state,
Where we're stuck reacting to our environment.
That survival state is exactly the place where Meta runs the show.
Where we're at the mercy of our circumstances.
As we settle the nervous system,
We create the internal space to actually generate a new energy,
A new emotion,
A new intention.
Dispenza himself uses breathwork in his meditations,
Particularly an active,
Energizing breath to draw energy up through the body and pairs it with clear intention and elevated emotion.
That combination is the whole point.
The breath raises and moves the energy and the mind gives it direction.
So here's where I invite you to try this week.
Before you reach for a goal or an outcome,
Pause and work with your state first.
Take a few minutes of slow,
Deliberate breathing through the nose to settle yourself.
Then,
From that settled space,
Generate the feeling of what you want to create.
Not the thought of it,
The feeling of it.
Gratitude,
As if it's already happened.
Calm,
As if the thing is already resolved.
Let the energy come first,
And let it lead.
Because if there's one thing to take from this week,
It's that you don't have to wait for your life to change before you change your energy.
You can start with the breath,
Generate the state and let the matter follow.
That's it for this week.
Look after yourselves,
Keep breathing,
And I'll see you in the next one.
