Welcome to your morning kindness meditation practice.
As the morning unfolds into a fresh new day around us,
Let's take a moment to consider the idea of kindness.
What is kindness?
Where do we find kindness,
And how do we cultivate more of it in our lives?
Kindness is moving through our day and through our life with an intentional softness despite the noise and challenge around us.
Kindness is not concrete,
But we can find it in our thoughts,
Our words,
And our actions.
But to be more kind to others in these ways,
We must learn to be more kind to ourselves in these ways first,
And then allow this kindness to expand into the world toward others.
We can cultivate kindness simply by tuning into an awareness of those moments of kindness that exist already around us.
Where is it that you would like to practice more kindness today?
Do you want to have more kindness toward yourself or towards others?
Do you want to have more kindness in your thoughts,
In your words,
Or in your actions?
For the next minute of your practice,
Sit with this intention and invite it to infuse all the spaces around you,
Continuing to breathe softly with the intention of cultivating kindness in whatever way you feel most called.
Stay in touch with that desire.
And throughout your day,
Pause every so often to consider how to bring more kindness into the world around you,
By starting with yourself first.
