Hello and welcome.
Find a position that feels comfortable and supportive for you today.
Allow your body to settle.
Knowing for this moment.
There is nowhere else that you need to be.
And nothing you need to accomplish.
If it feels comfortable,
Gently allow your eyes to close.
Take a slow,
Easy breath in.
And let it go.
Another breath in.
And a long,
Gentle breath out.
Without trying to change anything,
Simply notice how you've arrived here today.
Notice your body.
Notice your breath.
Notice any emotions that may be present.
Perhaps there's fatigue.
Frustration.
Grief.
Irritability,
Uncertainty.
Perhaps there's a feeling that you should be handling all of this better.
That you should have more patience.
More energy.
More resilience.
If any of those thoughts are here,
Simply notice them.
And then very gently ask yourself,
What if there is nothing wrong with me?
What if this season of life is not a sign that I'm falling apart?
But a sign that I'm changing.
Menopause is often spoken as something to fight against,
Something to fix.
Something that we have to get through.
But perhaps there's another way.
Perhaps this is a season of becoming.
A season where your body is asking you to slow down enough to hear its wisdom.
A season where the expectations,
Responsibilities,
And roles you've carried for so many years.
No longer fit in quite the same way.
A season that,
Gently,
And sometimes not so gently,
Ask you to stop leaving yourself behind.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale.
Imagine letting go of the pressure of who you used to be.
You do not have to meet this moment with the same energy that you had 20 years ago.
You do not have to carry.
Everything you once carried.
You do not have to earn your rest.
You do not have to apologize for needing care.
Allow yourself to notice any emotions that are here today.
Maybe there's a sadness for what is changing.
Maybe there's anger,
Fear,
Or relief.
You do not have to choose between grieving what is ending.
And welcoming what is emerging.
There is room for both.
As you breathe.
Imagine or go ahead and place a hand over your heart.
Feel the warmth of your own touch.
And silently offer to yourself these words.
This is a big transition.
It's okay that it feels hard sometimes.
I don't have to fight my experience.
I will meet myself with kindness.
Take another slow breath.
Imagine for a moment the younger versions of you.
A young woman trying to prove herself.
The woman who carried the needs of everyone around her.
The one who worked so hard.
Gave so much,
And kept going even when she was tired.
See if you can look at her with tenderness.
She got you here.
And now,
Perhaps,
This next season is asking something different.
Perhaps it is asking you to become the one who also cares for her.
The one who listens when your body says,
Slow down.
The one who believes your feelings instead of dismissing them.
The one who says,
You don't have to do this alone.
Notice your breath moving gently in and out.
Notice the support beneath your body.
Notice that in this moment.
You are huddled.
And perhaps this is one of the hidden gifts of menopause.
Now that's easy.
Not that we would have chosen every part of it.
But that it invites a deeper honesty.
And invites a deeper authenticity.
A deeper connection with the woman that you are becoming.
This is not the end of your vitality.
It is the beginning of a different kind of strength.
A strength that no longer comes from pushing through.
A strength that comes from knowing yourself.
Trusting yourself.
Caring for yourself.
And allowing yourself to take up space.
Exactly as you are.
Take one more slow,
Nourishing breath in.
And as you breathe out.
Imagine offering gratitude to your body.
Not because it's been perfect.
But because it's carried you.
Is adapted.
It's endured.
It is loved,
Created,
Survived,
And healed.
And it's still here,
Still changing.
Still wise.
Importantly,
Is still worthy of your compassion.
As we come to a close,
Allow these words to settle gently inside of you.
I do not need to fight this season of my life.
I will meet it with curiosity.
I will meet it with grace.
I will meet myself.
With compassion.
Take in one final deep breath.
And let it go.
Whenever you're ready,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.
The weight of your body in its seat.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And carry with you.
The quiet knowing.
That this season is not asking you to become less of yourself.
That may be inviting you to become more fully.
And more authentically.
Who you have always been.
Thank you so much for sharing this time with me today,
My friend.
I hope to see you around as part of the community.
And please give me a follow if you'd like to have these meditations at your fingertips.
Take care.
