Welcome to this Kabbalah meditation for the month of Capricorn.
Known in the Hebrew calendar as Tevet.
In Kabbalistic wisdom,
Tevet is associated with the transformation of anger.
This month invites us to become aware of our emotional fire and use it not for reaction,
But for wisdom,
Clarity,
And growth.
Find a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in and a slower breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Imagine yourself sitting beneath a great tree.
Its roots reach deep into the earth.
As branches stretch toward the sky.
The tree stands steady through every season.
Feel the support of the Earth beneath you.
Feel yourself settling into this moment.
Bring your awareness to your heart.
Notice whatever emotions are present.
There's nothing to judge and nothing to push away.
In Kabbalah,
Tevye teaches that strong emotions can become teachers.
Beneath frustration may be a need.
A boundary.
A truth.
Or longing asking to be heard.
Ask yourself,
What emotion is asking for my attention?
What truth is waiting to be acknowledged?
How can I respond with wisdom rather than reaction?
There is no need to force an answer.
Simply listen.
Imagine any strong emotion as a flame.
Not as destructive fire.
But a sacred fire that illuminates and helps you see clearly.
With each breath,
Allow that flame to become steady and calm.
Take a slow breath in and silently repeat.
I welcome the wisdom of my emotions.
As you breathe out.
I respond with clarity and compassion.
Again,
I welcome the wisdom within my emotions.
I respond with clarity and compassion.
Feel the roots beneath you.
Feel the steadiness of the tree.
Feel your emotions settling into wisdom and your reactions settling into awareness.
Take one final deep breath.
Offer gratitude for the lessons your emotions have brought you and for the strength to meet them with honesty and compassion.
When you are ready,
Gently return your awareness to the room and slowly open your eyes.
May this month of Tibet help you transform reaction into wisdom,
Emotion into understanding.
And challenge into growth.
Shalom.
