Welcome.
If you're listening to this,
You may have spent years carrying the quiet belief that safety is temporary.
That just when life starts to feel good,
Something will happen to take it away.
Maybe you've lived with a constant need to prepare,
To perform.
To stay just one step ahead.
Maybe you've become so familiar with bracing or impact that it actually feels normal.
These beliefs often begin as protection.
At one time.
They may have helped you survive uncertainty or disappointment,
But what once protected you doesn't have to define you forever.
Today we're not trying to force a new belief.
We're simply giving our mind and body a new experience.
Go ahead and start to find a comfortable position.
You can lie down,
You can stay seated,
Whatever feels right for you.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
See if you can't create some space between your ears and your shoulders intentionally.
Take a nice,
Slow,
Deep,
Intentional breath.
Bringing the breath in through your nose.
And a nice exhale through the mouth.
Feel the support beneath you.
Whether you're sitting in a chair or laying down on a bed,
Notice you're being held.
Notice that in this moment,
Nothing is asking you to defend yourself.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing you need to solve.
Nothing you need to earn.
Just this moment.
And in this moment.
I am safe.
My breath is steady.
My body is supported.
I release the need to prepare for what hasn't happened.
I don't have to brace for impact.
It's safe to soften.
It's safe to breathe deeply.
It's safe to rest.
It's safe to receive.
I allow myself to experience peace without questioning it.
I can enjoy what is good without fearing its end.
My mind does not have to search for danger.
And my body is learning that peace.
Is safe.
My nervous system is discovering what safety actually feels like.
Calm is becoming more familiar.
Peace is becoming more familiar.
And safety is becoming more familiar.
I no longer need to expect the worst in order to be prepared.
I choose presence over prediction.
I release what has not happened.
A return to what is here.
This belief once tried to protect me.
And I thank it for helping me survive.
But I no longer need to carry it into every moment.
Today,
I choose a different experience.
My body remembers how to settle.
I can trust this breath.
I can trust this moment.
In this moment,
I am safe.
In this moment.
I am safe.
I want you to notice if there's even 1% more softness in your body.
Notice if your jaw has relaxed.
Have your shoulders softened.
You notice if your breath feels just a little easier.
Notice if your body feels even slightly less prepared for something that isn't here and hasn't arrived yet.
There is nothing you need to force.
Nothing you need to prove.
And this is how change begins.
It's not all at once,
But one experience at a time.
And each time you practice,
Your nervous system gathers new evidence.
Evidence that this moment can be peaceful.
Evidence that you don't always have to brace for impact.
And evidence that your body can learn a new way of being.
Go ahead and take a nice,
Deep,
Slow breath.
Bring your awareness back to the support that's beneath you.
And remember that you don't have to know what tomorrow will bring in order to experience peace today.
And each time you return to this breath.
Each time you return to this moment.
You remind your mind.
And your body of something they are learning together.
In this moment.
I.
Am safe.
And as you bring your awareness back.
To your physical body.
Feel the weight of your body on the surface beneath you.
Start to invite in some gentle movement.
And your fingers and your toes.
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
And you can use this practice anytime you notice that belief starting to get really loud.
Because your nervous system will believe what it repeatedly experiences.
This is how change begins.
Not all at once,
But one experience at a time.
And today,
You have given it a new experience.
