This is a simple three-minute activation giving you permission to drop the performance and to simply be exactly as you are.
Go ahead and take a moment to settle in wherever you are,
And when you feel comfortable,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a nice,
Slow breath in through your nose,
And just let it go on the exhale.
Do that one more time,
Taking a nice,
Deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Allow your shoulders to soften.
For just a moment,
Imagine setting down the invisible weight that you carry every day,
The expectations,
The responsibilities,
The quiet pressure to keep everything running smoothly.
So many of us move through life performing,
Performing the role of the capable one in our families,
The one who always has the answers,
The one who keeps the peace,
And the one who holds everything together.
In our careers,
We perform competence and confidence,
Even on the days when we feel uncertain or overwhelmed.
In our friendships,
We perform being the strong one,
The supportive one,
The one who listens but rarely shares what we are truly carrying.
And over time,
That performance can become so automatic that we forget we are even doing it.
Take another slow breath,
And ask yourself gently,
Where in my life am I performing instead of just simply being?
Don't judge what comes up.
Just notice.
And now imagine that you have permission,
Permission to set some of that down,
Permission to not have everything figured out,
Permission to take off the mask that you may not even realize you are wearing,
Because the truth is this.
You do not have to earn your worth by performing for the world.
Your value does not come from how much you carry or how well you hold everything together.
Take another breath,
And imagine what it might feel like to soften just a little more,
To let someone help,
To say what you actually need,
To allow yourself to be human instead of perfect.
And now gently ask yourself one more time,
What would it feel like to show up today without the performance?
Just a little more honest,
A little more present,
A little more true.
And take a final deep breath,
And as you exhale,
Allow yourself to carry this simple permission with you.
You do not have to perform your life.
You are allowed to live it,
And feel that all throughout your body.
And when you are ready,
Go ahead and gently open your eyes.
