Allow me to guide you through a relaxing body scan.
This is an essential tool that helps you to develop somatic awareness.
.
.
Brings you into the present moment.
.
.
And invites restoration and relaxation.
Find a comfortable seated position that you can maintain for the next several minutes.
The aim of this practice is to cultivate awareness of your body without judgment.
You'll take a moment to tune into each area of your body.
.
.
Increasing your awareness of your sensations and the experience.
To begin,
I want to invite you to bring your attention to your breath.
Just noticing the breath as it naturally flows in and out of the body.
Making space for whatever you are feeling,
Including any areas of tension,
Heaviness,
Or constriction.
And now bring your awareness to your feet,
Legs,
And pelvis.
Notice the sensations in your muscles and on your skin.
Next,
Take a deep breath in as you bring your attention to your torso.
Becoming aware of any sensations in your abdomen and lower back.
Draw the awareness up to your mid-back,
Wrapping around the side bodies.
Bringing your attention to any sensations across your chest,
Your rib cage,
Or your upper back.
Tracing the awareness along the spine,
Up and down,
And just noticing what you notice.
Awareness of your shoulders,
Your arms,
And your hands.
Noticing any areas of tension or relaxation.
Lastly,
Bring your attention to your neck,
Throat,
And face.
Notice your eyes,
Your mouth,
And your tongue.
Awareness of your jaw and the general sensations of your head.
Allow the awareness to draw down through your whole body.
Are there any emotions arising?
What thoughts are you aware of?
Is there any part of your body that you could relax,
Unclench,
And release a bit more?
Just resting here for a few moments in silent awareness.
Coming back to your breath.
Back to the space that you're in.
Just making some gentle movements with the body.
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
Bringing this state of peace and relaxation into the rest of your day today.
Thank you for joining me.
