Hello everyone and welcome to this guided exercise where over the next couple of minutes you will reset your mind to a calm and quiet state.

You can do this exercise anytime and anywhere when you feel overwhelmed,

Anxious or worried and want to regain focus in your mind and calmness in your body.

The more often you practice this exercise the easier it will become to do it even when you're surrounded by noise or people with open eyes or standing up.

To start with I want to ask you to find a comfortable position and close your eyes and let go of all judgment.

Place your hands palms up comfortable in your lap.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose.

Now with your dominant hand put your thumb and middle finger together.

No pressure.

Feel skin on skin touching.

Slowly start circulating the tip of your fingers against each other.

Feel the surface of your fingertips.

Feel the warmth of your skin.

Slowly bring both hands together in a prayer position.

Palm on palm.

No pressure.

Feel the warmth of your skin.

Start exploring the surface of your palms.

Move your hands.

Feel the sensation on your skin when your fingertips touch softly.

Now put your hands on your thighs.

Palms down.

Feel the material of your clothes.

Feel the warmth of your body coming through.

Move your hands.

Use your fingers if you want and explore the material.

Feel its softness,

Its roughness.

Feel the movement of your hands on your thighs.

Your mind and body are calm now.

When you open your eyes you feel refreshed and confident.

Whenever you're ready place your hands in your lap and open your eyes.

I wish you a wonderful day.

Goodbye.

Really simple but effective practice for grounding in the body and finding some calm. One that I'll return to and try to hold on mind for moments of stress or overwhelm during the day.

Why didn’t I think of that. Very immediate calm and surprising sensations. Just lovely.

What a wonderful, quick exercise to get back in touch with yourself! I loved the somatic, tactile experience you created, and the calm I felt!
