Have you ever reached the end of your day?

And realized that your shoulders are tiny.

Your jaw is stressed,

And you're carrying tension you didn't even know was there.

And this is where a body scan meditation can really help.

So what is a body scan?

While a body scan meditation is a great mindfulness practice.

Where we can slowly bring attention through different areas of the body.

My peeking at the feet.

Release and relax your feet.

And gradually move upward.

Simply noticing the sensations as we go.

The intention here isn't to change anything straight away.

But it's simply becoming aware of what's happening in your body.

So why do people practice it?

How many of us spend a lot of time in our thoughts.

But a body scan can really help us to reconnect.

With her physical experience.

And help to become more aware of those areas where we may be holding tension or stress.

And many people also find body scans deeply relaxing.

Especially helpful.

Before sleep.

Research into mindfulness practices.

Suggests that putty scans really can help to reduce stress.

Improve body awareness.

And support relaxation.

A common misconception is that you're supposed to feel relaxed immediately.

Relaxation isn't the only goal.

The goal is also awareness.

And sometimes relaxation can follow naturally.

When we stop and pay attention to our bodies.

So thank you for listening.

Namaste my friend.
