Welcome to this gentle Taoist inspired journey.
The heart waterfall.
So just take a moment to settle in.
There's nowhere else you need to be right now.
Nothing else you need to do.
Just this gentle moment just for you.
Allow your body to soften.
Find your comfy space warm and cozy and feel yourself feeling into comfort.
And as you begin simply notice your breath.
Just noticing the soft rhythm of breathing in and breathing out.
Inhale and as you exhale just invite in a little more ease,
A little less holding,
A little more softening.
Let your shoulders loosen,
Your jaw soften and your belly relax.
And as your body begins to soften just imagine yourself standing beside a quiet stream.
The air here is still soft and peaceful.
The sound of water is gentle,
Steady and it's moving with ease.
And nearby an elder teacher stands with you.
It's just quietly present.
Not rushing or not explaining.
Just present with you.
And after a while the elder softly gestures towards the water inviting you to watch.
The stream it moves around stones without force,
Without resistance.
It does not argue with what stands in its way.
It does not push but it simply flows.
Sometimes gliding gently around what cannot be moved.
Sometimes pausing,
Resting in stillness.
And sometimes gathering quietly before continuing on.
And after some time the teacher speaks softly,
Simply.
Watch the water and you will understand your heart.
And maybe as you stand here something in you begins to soften.
It's a remembering that you do not need to force your way through everything.
That you do not need to be hard to be strong.
So the teacher places a hand over the heart and says gently,
Peace comes when you stop asking the heart to be stone.
Just allow it to flow like water.
And just stay here for a moment.
Watching,
Listening,
Feeling.
And as you notice the movement of the stream you begin to sense that this same gentle water it exists within you.
It's not somewhere far away but here within your heart.
So you might like to place a hand here and just rest it gently.
As though you are greeting something tender and wise within you.
Feel the warmth of your hand,
The quiet presence of your touch.
And the simple comfort of meeting yourself here.
As you rest in this awareness just imagine that within your heart there is a gentle waterfall.
It's not powerful or overwhelming but it's soft,
Steady and it's flowing with ease.
This water is warm,
It's comforting,
It's like a soft embrace.
Now as it begins to flow,
This waterfall,
It carries with it the quiet gifts of your heart.
And you can feel this waterfall softly pouring through your chest.
It's like a warm shower of kindness.
Just feel it gently washing over you,
Cascading downwards.
And within this flow you feel a love.
It's a quiet,
Steady love.
It asks nothing of you,
Only to be felt.
And there is warmth here.
It's wrapping around you just like something safe,
Something protective.
You might notice tenderness,
Softening any tightness,
Any holding in your body.
And this gentle waterfall,
It carries forgiveness too.
It's a soft allowing as the water flows.
And just feel it washing away what no longer need to hold on to,
Leaving behind a quiet sense of space and ease.
Within this flow there are moments of joy,
Light,
Subtle,
Like a soft glow within you.
And even longing is held here,
Gently,
Kindly.
Now you feel it is part of your heart's experience.
Just allow everything to be held within this warm,
Flowing presence.
And breathing in,
Just feel the warmth of this beautiful waterfall.
And breathing out,
Just feel yourself softened beneath it.
You are safe here,
Held,
Supported,
And for a few moments simply rest in this gentle,
Flowing embrace.
And whenever you need,
Just return to this waterfall,
Letting it wash through you,
Carrying warmth,
Care,
And quiet strength.
It is always here within your heart.
Namaste,
My friend.
