Hello and welcome.
I hope you enjoy today's yoga nidra.
How about we start this session by finding a comfortable place to rest our bodies.
Take your time and allow yourself to get completely comfortable.
You may notice that the hands might like to come a little further away from the body,
The fingers a little further away from the wrists,
The wrists a little further away from the shoulders and the shoulders a little further away from the ears and a little closer towards the earth.
And as you allow the shoulders to release you might find that the breath releases too.
You may allow the heels to come further away from one another and from the sit bones.
You might find that the crown of the head might like to come a little further away from the nook of the neck so that you can feel the whole space of the spine from the tailbone all the way up to the back of the neck.
Now just noticing the contact between your body and whatever is supporting you and seeing if with each exhale you can allow your body to soften a little bit more.
Allowing yourself to be supported,
Held,
So that your body understands that it's safe to relax.
We can relax.
Becoming aware now of the space around you,
The sounds around you.
From the most obvious sounds and closest sounds to the subtlest sounds.
Allowing your ears to wander as far as they may like to go to the furthest of sounds.
Allowing all the sounds to be a part of this experience.
Accepting the vibrations of sound from way beyond the space that you're in.
And then feeling the air on your skin.
Noticing the temperature of the air.
The way that it touches your skin.
There may be a breeze.
Noticing how as you inhale your body expands into the space that you're in.
As if it's greeting the air around you.
And as you exhale the body softens and releases into the space below you.
Notice the coolness of your inhale.
As the air turns into your breath,
Travels up the nostrils.
The coolness of your inhale flowing deep into your inner space.
The warmth of your exhale as it flows into the space around you.
We accept the breath in and let the breath go.
And allowing the awareness to flow to the space of your heart.
All around the heart.
Can you imagine a light around your heart?
Like an orb of energetic light.
Full of love.
Full of love.
And each time you inhale you feel this orb of love.
Shining a little bit brighter and larger.
And with each exhale you feel the orb of love.
Deep in your being.
We start by saying may I love.
May I be loved.
May I be at peace.
As you breathe with your orb of light.
Allowing your orb of light to travel around your body on it's own journey.
In each and every place that I mention,
Imagine your orb of light flowing to that area.
Spreading a healing loving light.
As the orb flows all the way down to your right thumb,
Right index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger,
The palm of the hand,
The back of the right hand.
All around the right wrist.
Deep into the space of the right wrist.
Into the right forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm.
Deep into the right shoulder.
All around the right shoulder.
Into the space of the right shoulder blade.
Along the space of the back of the neck.
And all the way down to the left thumb.
Left index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger,
Palm of the hand,
Back of the left hand.
Around and within the left wrist.
The left forearm,
Upper arm.
All the way around and deep into the left shoulder.
Into the left shoulder blade.
Deep into the space of the back of the heart.
All around the back of the heart.
And around the space of the lungs.
To the front chest,
Across the whole chest.
And into the space of the ribcage.
Nourishing all the organs within.
Coming to the front of the ribcage.
All around the ribcage.
Into the space of the lower back.
All across the lower back.
And all the way down to the right toes.
The right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
The right sole of the foot.
The right heel.
The whole of the right foot.
All the way around and within the right ankle.
The right shin.
Calf of the leg.
Around and within the right knee.
The front space of the right thigh.
Deep into the right thigh.
Back of the right thigh.
The right hip.
The right buttock.
And all around the pelvis.
All the way down to the left toes.
The left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
The left sole of the foot.
The left heel.
The left foot completely.
Around and within the left ankle.
The left calf of the leg.
Left shin.
Around and within the left knee.
Deep into the space of the left thigh.
Back of the left thigh.
Front of the left thigh.
The left hip.
The left buttock.
Deep into the space of the pelvis.
The whole space of the pelvis.
The space of the belly.
Deeper into the space of the belly.
To the muscles supporting the spine.
From the tailbone now.
All the way through each and every vertebra.
Nourishing the whole spine with a loving light.
All the way to the back of the neck.
Around the whole neck.
Into the space of the throat.
Into the space of the mouth.
Around the teeth.
Roof of the mouth.
The tongue.
The lips.
Around the lips.
The jaw.
Cheekbones.
The space around the eyes.
The eyes themselves.
The space between the eyes.
The whole forehead.
Around of the head.
All around the back of the head.
The space behind the ears.
The curves of the ears.
Lobes of the ears.
The space deep within the ears.
Deep into the head space.
The whole space of the body.
Feeling into the whole space within the body.
And allowing the whole space of the body to radiate with light.
Radiating with light filled with love.
Bringing your awareness now to the whole front of your body.
And can you imagine the space between the front of your body as high as you can to the atmosphere above you.
Can you imagine the space?
Can you imagine the life in that space?
And can you imagine your loving light radiating through your body as far as it can towards the atmosphere?
Can you allow the loving light to go beyond the atmosphere into the far folds of the universe?
Knowing that that loving light comes from you and no matter how far you allow it to go,
It's always a part of you.
And then bringing your awareness to the back body.
Can you imagine the space between your back body and the very centre of the earth?
And all the life that exists between you and the centre of the earth.
All the love that exists.
And now can you allow your loving light to radiate through your back body and as deep down into the earth's crust as you possibly can.
Can you now imagine your loving light radiating out through the left side of your body?
And can you imagine the space between the left side of your body and the closest being to you?
And can you allow your loving light to flow out through the left side of the body to the closest being that may be around you,
Real or imaginary?
And allowing that loving light now to go further,
As far as you desire.
Can you now bring your awareness to the right side of your body,
Feeling the loving light in the right side of your body?
And becoming aware or imagining the space between you and the being closest to you on the right side.
And can you allow the loving light to shine all the way to the closest being?
And then allowing the light to flow as far as you desire.
And then bringing the loving light down into the space of your feet,
The soles of your feet.
And imagining the space between the soles of your feet and the closest being to you.
Allowing the loving light to flow towards that person or animal.
And then allowing the loving light to flow as far as you desire.
And moving your awareness to the crown of the head.
And allowing your loving light now to come to the crown of the head.
As it shines beyond the crown of the head to the being closest to you.
Imagining the distance between you and that being.
Allowing the light to shine.
And then going way beyond that being.
Can you now allow the awareness to be in the front body,
Back body,
Left and right side of the body.
Soles of the feet to the crown of the head.
And allowing the loving light to shine as far as you want.
Allowing the light to flow.
It's limitless.
The light goes beyond all spaces that you know.
All places that you've been.
Yet somehow there's a knowing within you.
This place feels familiar.
It's a space of connection.
You have oneness.
Breathe into this loving space.
As you feel the connection now in your inner space through to the outer space.
There are no boundaries.
Allowing the awareness to come back to your heart space.
As you say to yourself,
I love.
I am loved.
I am at peace.
I love.
I am loved.
I am at peace.
We love.
We are loved.
We are at peace.
Allowing your body to soften and rest in this knowledge.
That you love.
You are loved.
You are at peace.
Slowly bringing awareness back into your body.
Becoming aware once again of the space within you.
As you inhale energy into your body and into the space within.
Your exhale flows into the space around you.
Into the sounds that are around you.
To the floor that supports you.
And as you become more and more aware of the space around you.
Allowing your inhale to draw more and more energy into the body.
Into the deepest parts of your body and way out to the periphery.
Through the fingers.
Through the toes.
Through the front and back body.
Top of the body.
Whole body.
Until you might just want to start stretching.
Giving yourself a squeeze and a hug.
Taking your time.
And when you are ready.
Maybe taking a good long exhale out through the mouth.
Taking a little bit of time.
Before getting on with the rest of your day or your evening.
