Hi,
It's Amy.
It's been a busy day but now there is nothing for you to do other than relax.
This meditation is designed to help you drift off into a peaceful sleep.
But there's no pressure.
If you don't sleep,
You can enjoy the relaxing benefits of this meditation instead.
Either way,
Make sure you are really comfortable lying down in your bed now with your eyes closed.
Good,
Here we go.
We're going to start off with some simple breath work.
Breathing in for 6 and out for 8.
Let's go in 2,

Hold and out 2,

Again in 2,

6.
Hold and breathe out 2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8.
Let your breath return to a comfortable rhythm now.
We're going to turn our attention to the body.
Starting with the face where we hold most of our attention throughout the day.
Can you relax your forehead?
Your brow?
Your jaw?
Your tongue?
Allow any tightness to be released.
Letting this wave of relaxation move down your neck now.
Feeling it spread across your chest,
Your shoulders.
Can you relax them further?
Taking another big breath in and out as you allow your arms to feel heavy.
Feeling the weight of the top of your arms,
Your elbows,
Your lower arms,
Your wrists,
Your hands.
And finally releasing any grip that remains in your fingers.
Focusing on the back.
Are there any muscles still engaged?
Let go of any tension in your mid back,
Lower back.
And now take another breath in and out as you release any tension in your tummy.
Allow your tummy to completely relax.
Allow the hips to sink down further into the bed below.
This wave of relaxation is now moving down over your legs.
Feeling any tightness slip away as warmth spreads over the top of your legs,
Your knees,
The lower legs,
The ankles.
And now let any tension in your feet go as the relaxation travels down,
Down into your toes.
You are standing in a moonlit street.
It is raining,
But you are cozy,
Wrapped up warm in a heavy coat,
Holding an umbrella.
The street is quiet and lit by glowing street lamps.
Their glow reflects in the puddles that are pooling at the sides of the road.
There are a few cars parked.
Engines switched off.
As if asleep and tucked up for the night.
A street cat is curled up asleep underneath the wheels of a car just to your left.
The street is lined with little shops.
As you observe them,
You notice the rain gathering in puddles on every window ledge.
Drops rolling off the top of closed shops signage.
Water dripping down wooden frames onto the ground below.
A friendly stranger passes by quickly with a smile.
Seeking shelter from the rain.
Their boots making a gentle splashing sound as they pass you.
You catch the smell of their perfume in the wind.
It smells like warm spices and cinnamon.
As the rain continues to pour,
You notice a building in front of you that is lit from within.
Open.
Welcoming.
It's an aquarium.
A night aquarium.
A place where wanderers can go to find peace and refuge.
A perfect place for you to visit right now.
As you approach,
You notice two heavy metal doors at the entrance with ornate silver handles.
You grip one tightly and pull it open.
As you step inside,
The rain behind you fades away.
In front of you is the most beautiful aquarium.
It gently glows with soft light.
Blue and turquoise.
Ripples appear in the water as stingrays and fish of all sizes and colors.
Slowly pass each other by through bright green water plants and moss in harmony and peaceful coexistence.
The windows of the aquarium run from the floor to the ceiling and are surrounded by ornate,
Intricate silver embellishments.
Handcrafted and breathtakingly beautiful.
This was a place built with love.
A palace for these sea creatures.
Respected and safe.
There is a seating area in front of the main aquarium window.
A bench made for viewing.
Empty at the moment.
Inviting you in.
As you take a seat,
You observe the inhabitants of the aquarium closer.
Clownfish.
Giant groupers.
Eagle rays.
Sand tiger sharks.
All pass from left to right to left.
A stingray displays the length of its underside.
Completely comfortable and at one with the water.
It looks like it's smiling.
And now,
Here's a sea turtle.
Paddling peacefully as it passes you by.
The aquarium is filled with life.
And as you watch the incredible creatures inside,
You feel a sense of oneness.
A sense of belonging.
And you realise there's nowhere else you need to be right now.
You can take as much time here as you need.
You continue to drift into the deep blue.
With your new sea creature guides comforting you and showing you just how mesmerising their world can be.
Simple yet complex.
Delicate yet all at the same time.
A member of the aquarium staff stands to the side of the tallest window.
You catch his eye and he briefly responds with a knowing smile.
This place is magic.
Unique.
And how incredible it is that you are here.
Your eyes move back to the tank.
Shoals of colourful fish are glimmering.
Gliding together.
An octopus reveals itself.
Pattern shifting as it moves away from the rock it had been resting on.
You are so calm.
So content.
You could sit here forever.
