Thank you for joining me in this meditation today.
This practice is an invitation to slow down in a way that feels safe and supportive for you today.
This time is for you.
There is no need to do anything but be.
There is no need to soften and reconnect with your own inner rhythm.
Let yourself come into a comfortable upright seated position with your spine supported yet relaxed.
When you're ready,
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Relax,
Not forced,
Just allowing stillness to settle.
Begin by noticing the support beneath you,
The steadiness that holds you without effort.
As you settle in,
Gently bring your awareness to your breathing.
There's nothing to change,
Just noticing a natural inhale and a natural exhale.
Thoughts may appear.
These might be planning thoughts,
Curious thoughts,
Protective thoughts.
They are not wrong.
They are simply activity in a busy mind.
You can allow them to be here.
And when you notice them,
Return to the steady rhythm of your breath.
Feel the breath rise and fall,
The sensation of the breath coming in and the breath going out.
Your breath is here like a quiet companion,
Reliable,
Steady,
Always returning you to the present moment.
Stillness can feel unfamiliar,
Especially when life has asked you to stay alert,
To keep going.
If you feel restlessness,
Emotion,
Or tension,
That is part of being human.
You don't have to eliminate anything.
Simply let your breath be your anchor.
Always coming back to the rise and fall of your breathing.
Imagine your thoughts as leaves floating down a gentle stream.
You don't need to reach or push them away.
Just let them pass while your awareness rests gently on your inhale and exhale.
Each breath you take with awareness sends a message to your body.
You are safe enough to soften here.
Meditation doesn't require perfection.
It simply asks for presence,
A willingness to pause,
A moment to reconnect.
Feel the breath entering,
Feel the breath leaving,
Inviting a sense of spaciousness within you.
These small moments of breathing become threads weaving in their steadiness.
Not forced,
Not rushed,
Just naturally taking shape.
Stay with your breath,
Rising and falling,
Arriving and leaving,
The quiet rhythm that brings you home to yourself.
As we begin to close out this meditation,
Allow yourself to acknowledge the care you offered yourself just now.
This act of breathing with awareness is nourishment,
Even if it felt subtle or imperfect.
Slowly become aware of the room around you,
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for sharing the space with me.
