The Calm After the Storm: A Meditation on Resilience and Renewal Close your eyes and begin to remember… Those quiet moments of relief that came after the storm—after the tears, the heartache, the deep emotional waves. Moments where, even if just for a breath, you felt space. Lightness. A sense of okayness returning. This meditation invites you to gently reflect on those moments. To honor how, no matter how intense the pain, you’ve always made it through. Relief has always come. And with it, your strength has deepened. Even now, past wounds may whisper through your present thoughts and reactions. But you are not bound to them. You hold the power to soften, to heal, to choose a new way forward. Let this be your reminder: - You’ve survived so much. - You’ve grown in ways you may not even see yet. - And you are still unfolding—stronger, wiser, more whole.

Take this moment to tune into your breath.

Find the space within you that is gentle and at peace.

Slowly inhaling and gently exhaling.

Keep this rhythm to relax your mind and body.

With each exhale your body will naturally begin to soften.

Your mind might try and wander.

This is natural.

When you notice that your mind is working on taking you into what still needs to be done,

Gently tell yourself that all can wait.

By coming back to the breath those thoughts will quiet down.

Feel the presence of this moment now.

Ground yourself in the awareness of your breathing.

The simple remembrance of becoming present can shield us from going into unnecessary places.

These places are usually tied to something that has happened in the past or something that might happen in the future.

When we get triggered our immediate reaction is to respond in a way that is automatic for us.

These are reactions we have built over time.

What if this automatic response can be altered?

What happens when you realize you can slow down and choose a route that will bring you peace instead of responding with anger which will only bring you more harm?

When we slow down by placing our attention on our breathing we can change the outcome of any situation.

Think about the time now when you've reacted to something negatively.

Perhaps this is something that happened today or recently.

As you focus on your breathing re-imagine the situation to unfold where you simply stayed present.

You have the power to make a choice.

To choose your well-being and peace of mind when something outside of us is testing us.

These might be difficult people or a stressful situation.

By slowing down and focusing on our breath it gives us the time to decide what will bring us the most optimal outcome.

That space is where healing comes in.

It is here where we will find ourselves often as we begin the journey towards cultivating peace of mind.

The next time you are facing anxious thoughts of your mind you will notice your heartbeat begin to increase.

It is in these moments that you remember to come back to the rise and fall of your breath.

The more often we practice accessing the space of peace we empower ourselves.

You will feel lighter,

The tensions and stress will cease.

All because you are in tune with your breath.

As we close out this meditation practice have the courage to choose a different route.

Focus on the breath,

The tool that is within you.

Act with light and light will protect you.

That from within,

That sense of calm will always protect you.
