Welcome to Kids Relaxation.
Today we are going to journey into your secret garden.
So find a comfortable spot to lie down.
Lying down is preferable because your entire body can relax.
You can allow your hands to rest in your lap or just beside your legs and gently close your eyes.
Begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Letting it out through your mouth.
Good.
Take another deep breath and see if you can let the breath out without pausing in the middle.
Just a smooth inhale and a smooth exhale.
We're first going to take a playful walk through a maze.
See if you can follow me in your imagination.
First we turn right and walk down this very beautiful path.
And now we turn left and then right again.
We're coming to the end of the maze and I can see a light.
As we continue to walk,
We walk out into the bright light and find a very comfortable place to sit down.
As you sit here,
Take another deep breath and allow your body to move until it gets so comfortable.
Check in with the backs of your knees.
See how they feel right now.
If you feel like it,
See how your earlobes are feeling.
You probably haven't checked in with your earlobes for a while.
You're doing a good job.
Now taking another deep breath in,
When you let it out you can just begin to breathe normally.
In your imagination,
Imagine that you're beginning to walk down a very peaceful path.
Perhaps there's a gentle breeze blowing.
You might hear some birds in the distance.
You're feeling very comfortable and calm as you walk peacefully down this path.
And soon you come to a gate that is partly hidden behind some pretty vines.
Walking up to the gate,
You see that your name is part of the iron bars.
It's a gate with your beautiful name on it.
Carefully open the gate and slip behind it.
As you step further behind and between the vines,
You find yourself in the most beautiful garden you have ever seen.
There are walls that surround this garden.
Stone walls hiding it from the outside,
Making it secret just for you.
Tall trees are growing up to the sky,
Making a canopy over your head.
This is your very own secret garden.
No one else knows about it but you.
And no one is here but you.
If anyone else visits your garden,
It's up to you to invite them.
In this place,
Time stands still.
There's nowhere to be.
There's nothing that you have to do.
Just right now,
You and your secret garden.
This is a time just for you to be here,
To be present,
To just be.
You're free to add whatever you like within these walls.
Perhaps you'd like more trees or your favorite flowers.
Maybe a water fountain or a waterfall,
A mossy pond.
Maybe you want to skip in your garden from tree to tree,
From flower to flower.
Or maybe you want to bend down,
Feel the soil,
Or even plant a flower.
Take a moment to just explore your secret garden.
This garden is safe.
This garden is secure.
This garden is a place just for you.
It feels so good to be inside your garden,
To relax.
You get to design it just as you want it.
Perhaps by adding a little more sand,
A little walkway,
A butterfly or two,
A turtle.
Maybe there are other animals visiting.
It's all up to you.
As you walk further into your secret garden,
Find a place that is special.
This is your special part of your secret garden that you can come to any time you want to feel safe,
To feel secure,
To relax,
To just be for a little while.
As you sit in your special place,
See if you can relax even more,
Feeling the ground holding you,
Supporting you completely.
Perhaps even feeling as if you're melting into the ground.
As you lie here or sit here relaxing,
You can release thoughts or memories or feelings,
Anything that troubles you.
Just letting it go,
Melting it away,
Just letting go.
Beautiful.
Completely at peace,
Feeling so good,
Knowing that you are enough in this place.
Being who you are is enough.
After a while you may feel that you have let go of all that you came here to let go of right now.
Feeling that it's time to leave,
Know that you can return to this special place,
The special place in your own secret garden any time you want.
It's always here.
It's always available to you.
So begin to get up and walk back,
Back through your secret garden,
Down the path to the gate.
As you pause at the gate,
Look back and know that you can return any time,
Knowing that you take with you all that you have felt here.
That you only have to think of your secret garden and these peaceful feelings,
These feelings of being safe and secure,
Return every time you think of it.
Walking through the gate,
You can begin to return your attention to your surroundings,
Perhaps wiggling your fingers and your toes,
And completing this journey of your secret garden.
Thank you.
