Hello,
My name is Samantha Ochsvaal of Sai Yoga.
Welcome and thank you for joining me.
Get comfortable,
Close your eyes and begin to soften by just focusing on the breath.
The breath is a connection to everything that happens within us in this space.
A connection to each other,
To oneself,
To this physical body,
To the mind.
So to bring ourselves inward,
We tune in to our breath,
Which brings you in.
So focusing on the breath when you engage with others keeps you centered.
So you notice how you interact with others.
The breath is vital to the connection to the world that we exist in.
But we take it for granted because it happens so naturally.
We feel like we don't need to pay attention to it.
It's automatic.
Until the day comes when we are close to our last breath,
Then it becomes critical.
There's a quote by Jane Wagner that says,
I feel like my life is just passing me by like two ships in the night and I have missed both boats.
Many times life seems as if it has just rushed by.
And in our last breath,
We realize we miss so much of the in-between.
But imagine living your life where you are constantly conscious.
Conscious of your breath,
Conscious of your words,
Conscious of your actions.
And in doing so,
You become a participant in how you live your life.
Isn't that what we all want?
Control of how we live our life.
Only in a state of mindfulness and awareness can you begin to live fully.
Cognizant of what you are creating.
You become that active participant.
But if we are only concerned about the doing,
The outcome,
If we live unconsciously,
Then we are sailing by without a boat,
Not fully living.
So we want to connect.
And the first place we want that connection to be is from within.
Not outside of ourselves.
Just imagine being fully mindful of how we are using the breath,
Moving the body,
Processing the thoughts.
And how that ability creates a balance between breath,
Thought,
And action.
Allowing us to engage outside of our world with harmony,
With peace.
So with the next inhale,
Stay steady.
Focus on deep inhales.
The body will follow suit.
And as you exhale,
You signal your nervous system to relax the muscles and let the body know it is okay to be in this space.
This inner being,
This interconnection,
Is a place you can call home.
Where you feel grounded.
Where you think steady.
Where you feel calm.
Where there is clarity.
And where there is peace.
And the mind realizes it doesn't have to do anything here.
And it doesn't have to think back or think ahead.
It just has to be here.
And that is what we want.
To be present.
So that our lives are not just passing by.
Instead,
We are aware.
And a participant.
In doing so,
We live our lives fully.
Fully connected.
So again,
Breathe in deeply.
And exhale,
Letting go slowly.
Give yourself some time to be here in this space.
Settling in.
Take as much time as you need.
But when you begin to engage in what's happening around you,
Again,
Don't lose sight of what's happening within you.
And be that active participant.
Fully connected.
Fully living.
Have a wonderful day.
And namaste.
