Hello,
My name is Samantha Archibald of Sai Yoga.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
And I would like us to take a little bit of time to come home.
And I don't mean home to our houses.
I want us to go someplace a little closer.
Let's go home to our heart.
A place that we can take anywhere with us.
So that home is everywhere with us.
So let's begin by coming into a comfortable seat.
And that could be seated in a chair or laying down.
And let's roll the shoulders back.
Take a nice deep breath in.
And exhale.
And inhale as you lengthen the spine.
And exhale as you let it go.
Soften the eyebrows,
The jaw line,
And allow yourself to go inwards.
So this is the moment where you step away from the exterior,
The day to day,
And all that happens outside of you.
Here you come home.
You come home to your heart.
Connecting to your breath allows your body to relax.
Settle in.
Come on in to the space that grounds you.
Sometimes that takes a moment or two.
So go back to the breath.
And let the breath calm the eyebrows,
The jaw line,
The neck,
The shoulders,
The arms,
The chest,
The back,
The hips,
The legs.
And with the next inhale,
Fill the entire body.
Feel the chest lift.
And with the exhale,
Soften.
And at this moment,
There is nothing you need to do.
You are home.
Just allow yourself to breathe in and breathe out.
Allow the breath to do what it needs to do.
Without any help,
Just focus in your mind on the length of your breath.
As you know,
Your breath works without any effort from you.
But we often forget to connect to the breath.
So all we are doing here is bringing our mind inwards to the breath.
And as we do that,
We come home.
The body relaxes.
The heart opens,
And the thoughts,
The to-do list,
And all the actions that needs to be done are put aside for a moment.
So you could replenish.
You can refocus.
You can bring clarity.
You can become calm.
And you allow yourself to be,
To be home in your heart.
And in this world,
In this time in our lives,
It is sometimes very hard to allow ourselves to be.
That takes a bit of effort.
So allow yourself to be conscious of your breath,
Of your body,
Of your heart.
Focus as you go inward.
Is there any tension,
Any resistance,
Any strain,
Any anxiety?
Any pain anywhere?
And let it go.
You are home.
You don't need to hold on to anything that doesn't serve you.
Let it go.
You are home,
And all is well.
As you move on through your day,
When you go back to what happens outside of you,
You bring with you this consciousness,
This awareness of connecting to the breath,
Connecting to the body,
Connecting to the heart.
Let the breath guide you as you let the mind be very clear of the heart,
So that the self,
The inner being,
Is never lost in thought.
That full connection,
That full awareness will keep you steady.
So let's take some time here,
Home in our heart.
Also for these few minutes more,
I like to be silent so that we can truly connect to our home,
To our heart.
And I'll be back shortly.
So let's just take a few minutes.
Let's go home to our heart.
Let's take a few minutes.
Let's take a few minutes.
Let's take a few minutes.
Let's take a few minutes.
Let's take a few minutes.
So as we begin to bring movement into the body,
You begin to go outward again.
We'll start by rotating the wrists,
Moving the fingers,
Rolling the shoulders back,
Connecting to the actions,
The movements of the mind.
So the shoulders forward as you drop the chin down,
And lift the head up as you pull the chest forward.
So there's a movement of the chest back and forth.
As the head drops and then the head lifts,
The chest follows.
Then come into a neutral position with the spine long and the head reaching for the sky.
And gently bring your palms together.
Eyes are still closed.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Just notice the exhale.
And again,
Inhale and deeply fill in the whole body.
And exhale.
And we'll open our eyes and get ready for whatever is next,
Knowing that we will never really leave home.
We'll just bring home with us wherever we go,
Whatever we do,
And whatever comes next.
Namaste.
