What are some examples of attachments that you can try to cut to release?
So with this idea of cord cutting,
Of releasing,
Of discovering attachments.
I like to.
Work with myself across multiple different time spans,
Past,
Present and future.
With the people,
Places and events.
This is another way in to the idea of self-healing,
Of parts work,
Of the idea of the body keeping the score.
What we're basically trying to do here is find stuff that we're holding on to,
That is no longer serving.
As life progresses.
Things happen to us.
Big T or little t traumas.
Significant events.
People come and go.
And we hold on to it.
We can hold onto it for years or decades.
So in an activity like this,
We're taking a moment to.
.
.
Scan the entirety of the body.
Scan the mind space,
Scan our past.
Realise where we are in the present.
And perhaps going into the future and noticing.
Noticing what attachments we're holding on to.
What's impacting us.
Once we discover what's impacting us and it could be.
.
.
Different for different people.
So in terms of specific examples.
It could be a memory.
It could be the impact of a person.
It could be a space or a place.
It could be a role you were in in a previous job.
For example.
And it might not even be overtly negative.
Could be.
But it could just be.
A version of you that is no longer sort of applicable to your current situation.
If you changed careers.
Significantly,
Who you were in the previous career won't be who you need to be now,
Right?
So if you identify any or all of those things,
You'll notice that there's still this attachment to them.
And if your visual,
And if this idea of discovering those visual attachments help you to recognize those connections.
And sometimes just noticing the attachment.
Is enough to release it.
But other times we need to deploy a visualization,
For example.
A spiritual snipping away or an untying or the application of some sort of inner balm or energy.
And it can release.
Other times it needs to be a more deeper inquiry.
Why am I still holding on to this?
What was left unresolved.
What does this part of me,
Part of my past?
Need me to know in order to feel safe enough to let go.
Because as things happen to us,
Around us.
Changes happen within us to adapt,
To survive.
Once again,
This doesn't have to be for big T or little t traumas.
It is what we do in life.
After sharing this with you,
I'm going to go to work.
At work I need to be a certain version of me to function appropriately in that specific workspace,
Right?
So I'll be holding on to something once I leave,
Unless I take a moment to let go of that.
Get into a new role?
I'll still hold that.
So after work today,
I'm going to go do some training.
I train martial arts.
Work me is not the same as martial arts me.
So I know that I have to do a little process to.
.
.
Release the old.
And come back to the present.
Because in that moment,
It's like,
OK,
I need to be a new version of me.
Or a different one.
It's still me.
I'm just accessing different aspects.
After that,
I'll come home.
I'm parenting.
Parent me is different from martial arts me,
Which is different from work me.
So on and so forth.
This is normal.
This is what we do.
It's a healthy version of masking.
If you're masking,
You're pretending,
And that might be what you had to do in the past.
Really protect yourself by being someone else.
Survival mechanism.
Or you just gently have to you know,
Present a different face,
Different aspect of you.
Two sides of the same coin,
Both of which is us adapting to the situation.
I say all of that because it could be a big thing or a little thing,
But ultimately we hold on to stuff.
And if you can identify what you're holding onto and use it in an approach,
For example,
A visualization to see it.
And to gently release it.
Great.
And if it doesn't release,
You get curious.
Where am I holding this in the body?
When did this happen?
What does this part of me need?
What do I need to do?
So on and so forth until you find it releasing.
If it doesn't,
Come back to it again and again and again.
Until you can trust the process and the parts that you're working with can trust you.
And the reality is,
Is that over time eventually.
.
.
You'll see you're picking up these attachments continuously.
And you'll learn to release them.
But it's when we get stuck in that release or that release isn't available that it's Tension happens.
