One of the best things about lucid dreaming is that just by engaging with the content,

Just by listening to this talk right now,

The chances of you becoming lucid tonight is dramatically increasing.

The more you listen to these sort of talks,

The more you comment and connect and share your dream stories.

If you have a friend that you talk about lucid dreaming with,

All of these things will enhance your ability to become lucid.

So I encourage you,

Listen to this talk,

Implement what we're going to talk about,

But just keep engaging with the content because that alone will prime your mind and get you lucid.

So let's talk about the topic of today's talk.

A couple of different tips,

Tricks,

And ideas to get lucid.

Like I said,

Engaging with lucid dreaming content.

I suggest you find a friend or a buddy either in person or online and just send them a message each day,

Right?

Different times of the day and just say,

Hey,

Are you dreaming?

Just send them a message,

Hey,

Are you dreaming?

Ask them the question.

And as you ask them that question,

Ask yourself that question.

Are you dreaming right now?

I'm going to assume you say no.

Well,

You're not dreaming.

How do you know?

How do you know that you're not dreaming?

Look mindfully.

Look mindfully at the world around you.

Consider how did you get to this space right now?

Does the day make sense?

Are there people around you that shouldn't be there because they don't live around you?

Maybe they've moved on.

Maybe they've passed away.

What about reality right now tells you that you're in a dream or not in a dream?

So send your friend a message saying,

Are you dreaming right now?

And in addition,

If you have a vivid dream or a lucid dream,

Share that with them.

Tell them.

Say,

Hey,

I had a lucid dream last night.

This happened.

I learnt this.

This is what happened when I became lucid.

Talk about it.

Yeah?

That is a strong way to become lucid.

I have a course on Insight Timer that's called Using Meditation to Enhance Lucid Dreaming.

Join in that course.

Engage with it and write down your dreams in the classroom.

Read the dreams of the other people that are doing that as well.

Once again,

It's another way to engage with lucid dreaming content.

Not only will you learn,

You know,

The tips,

Techniques and tricks of using meditation to enhance lucid dreaming,

But also you'll be re-engaging with the content daily.

That's an amazing way,

An amazing way to get and stay lucid.

Talked about the idea of questioning how do you know that this is a dream right now?

This is talking about dream signs.

A dream sign is something that happens in your dreams that you know is sort of a sign of the fact that you're dreaming.

So for me,

For years,

I would have a nightmare about being on a beach and a tsunami coming.

Or I'll dream about my father who'd passed away.

Or I'll dream about a cartoon-like son coming down and sort of touching me.

Right?

There's a variety of more dream signs that are exclusive to me.

Well,

Not exclusive,

But they are signs that I know represent a dream in my world.

If those things are happening,

If I find myself on a beach,

I don't go to the beach much in real life.

If I find myself talking to my father,

If I find myself in a cartoon world where the sun is coming down upon me,

Chances are I'm dreaming,

Right?

So what we do,

How do we know our dream signs?

Well,

We keep a dream journal.

You know,

Beside your bed,

Have a pen and a paper or a phone or a voice recorder,

Some way to track your dream process.

And what you do is every day when you wake up in the middle of the night or in the morning,

Just note down what you remember about your dream.

This can be as small as a word or a phrase or like a feeling,

Or it could be a long sort of narrative fictional story.

It doesn't matter.

Write it down.

Write down everything you can remember.

And over time,

What you'll find is that you start to see similarities.

You know,

You'll start to see things that happen in a dream consistently.

They're your dream signs.

Work them out.

Focus on them.

Think about them.

And if you find yourself in the presence of a dream sign,

Ask yourself the question,

Am I dreaming?

And from there,

You can do a reality check.

A reality check is a little test to prove whether or not you're dreaming.

Now,

These aren't 100% valid,

And you'll have to play with them to see what works.

I typically do a couple before I start engaging with lose your dreaming space.

But,

You know,

Try this now.

Try and put one finger through the palm of your other hand.

You can't do it.

In a dream space,

Often you can.

Another good one is blocking your nose and trying to breathe in through your nose.

You know,

Because your body is asleep and dreaming,

It's breathing.

But in the dream space,

You actually don't need air.

Block your nose and breathe.

Another one is in dreams,

Typically,

It's very hard to do maths,

Basic maths.

Like I'm talking like,

You know,

Five plus seven plus three.

It's hard to just work out the maths,

Right?

And it's hard to read.

Words tend to change.

You find yourself sort of focusing on these things for far too long,

Far longer than your usual.

Put your hand up and you'll notice that you have more or less fingers than you should.

Maybe technology is stuffing up.

Mirrors tend to act funny.

Lights tend to act funny.

Okay?

These are all little reality checks.

Another one that I like is just flying.

Just try and fly.

If you're flying,

Chances are you're lucid dreaming.

That or you're a superhero,

Right?

So you're lucid dreaming.

So now you've established that you are in fact dreaming.

You're in a lucid dream.

You need to stabilize it.

I would suggest you rub your hands together or spin or fly or run.

Movement grounds you.

Movement grounds you.

What I mean by that is when you become lucid,

Oh my god,

It's amazing.

But it's also so amazing that you might wake up.

So the moment you realize you're dreaming,

Rub your hands together like that.

Say to yourself,

This is a dream.

I am dreaming.

Fly,

Run,

Spin.

You'll find yourself stabilizing.

Yeah?

So now you're in the dream space and it's yours to explore.

You can choose to explore.

You can use it to create.

You can use it to fulfill whatever fantasies you like.

You can even use it to ask the dream space,

The higher consciousness,

Whatever you feel that you're connecting with to show you something important.

There's some amazing things down that path.

I have had lots of healing from past traumas and lots of insights into myself,

Into my soul from asking the dream space,

What?

Show me something important.

It's like I said,

I encourage you to check out my course on Insight Timer,

On meditation for enhancing lucid dreaming.

It has a bunch of information and the very fact that you're engaging with content like this,

Like that course,

Will enhance your lucid dreaming abilities just by default.

It works.

Okay?

Take the time,

Connect with it and do it.

I'm also going to be putting out a bunch of live talks on lucid dreaming,

On having the Q&A,

The questions and the answers,

And sort of going about that process.

So stay tuned for those lives as well.

But regardless,

Happy lucid dreaming.
