We start by stilling the mind. We then show the inner how beautiful stillness can grow when we let go of the chatter of the thoughts that take us to the past and to the future. We learn to be still, to be present, to let go of goals and see how true happiness lies in the here and the now.

Keep the eyes closed.

Start to observe the breathing.

Observe each in-breath.

Observe each out-breath.

Observe the feeling of stillness that enters into the mind as you focus on the breath.

Feel the ribcage expand.

Contract.

Feel the movement of the air as it enters,

Leaves the body.

Remain aware of the feeling of stillness that's growing within the mind.

Connect to the stillness within.

Connect more and more to the breath and allow the breath to guide you towards the point of stillness that lies beyond the mind.

Feel stillness,

Tranquility.

Continue to watch each in-breath,

Each out-breath.

Feel the movement within the ribcage as you observe the breathing.

Keep connecting to the deepest point of stillness in the mind.

And now as you reach this point of stillness,

You start to observe the mind,

Its patterns,

Its thoughts.

You see yourself as a white light deep within the heart.

It simply observes thoughts,

Feelings,

Entering,

Leaving.

You see that thoughts enter and leave the mind all the time.

You don't react to them.

You just see them.

You see that these thoughts can enter from the mind into the body and turn into feelings and emotions,

But that these change all the time.

You just observe them without reacting,

Seeing that the feelings are simply reactions within the body of the thought patterns created by the mind.

And then you turn to the mind once more.

You see what kind of thought patterns make up the mind.

And as you observe,

You feel yourself as something distant to the mind,

An observer that just watches but doesn't react.

And you realize that in your true nature of sat,

Chit,

Anand,

Truth,

Consciousness,

Bliss,

You're simply the observer.

Thoughts come and go.

No permanence to them.

And the thoughts are not you.

The mind is not you.

You're simply peace,

A point of peace,

An awareness,

A consciousness that just watches these thoughts entering,

Leaving.

And then you start to realize that these thoughts are made up sometimes of memories of events that have passed but they're not occurring in this present moment in time.

You see how the thoughts try and take you back to a past that's already gone.

But as you learn to observe,

You realize that this isn't a true past.

Your memories are tainted by your current likes and dislikes.

If you like something or someone now,

You'll remember it more fondly.

And if you dislike,

Then you'll remember it in a more negative way.

But this isn't the true past.

The true past is gone.

It's only the present moment that exists.

Your memories are just fluctuations of the mind,

Seeing things in a way that reflect your current likes,

Your current dislikes.

Your memories,

When they're negative,

Can create sadness inside,

But sadness about a past that's already happened.

And when these memories involve people or places that you liked and that have now gone,

You simply kiss them,

Hug them fondly,

Thank them for the experiences they've given you,

The lessons they've taught you,

But tell them it's your destiny now and always to live and enjoy the present moment in time.

And you carry on observing the mind.

You see that sometimes the mind creates an imaginary future,

Creates dreams that are based on your current likes,

Your current dislikes,

And that these dreams change from day to day,

From year to year,

Depending on how your likes and dislikes change.

They have no substance.

The dreams are always changing.

And the future does not exist.

It never exists because the only thing that truly exists is this present moment in time.

The thoughts,

Feelings you experience related to the future are simply created by the imagination of the mind.

There's no truth there.

It's only ever the present moment in time that truly exists.

You observe the mind,

Observe the dreams.

It creates the thoughts of the imaginary future,

The goals it tries to set to take you away from the present moment.

Without reacting to these,

You just observe,

Feel yourself in the present moment.

The future has not yet happened,

And it never will happen.

It's only ever a creation of the mind.

The present moment is the only thing that's true.

You continue to see how everything else is just stories,

Arduous stories created by the mind.

You observe the mind,

See it as something distant.

You observe the breath,

You use it as your anchor,

And see that stillness that comes from being aware of the present moment is the only thing that truly exists.

Past,

Future,

These concepts are simply created by the thought patterns in the mind.

But your truth,

Your happiness,

Your peace comes from being aware that in life it's only the present moment that ever exists in time.

No past,

It's gone.

No future,

It's not come yet.

Just this present moment,

An eternal present moment,

Is the only thing that exists.

You observe the breath,

Feel the present moment.

It's only ever the now,

This moment in time that exists.

No past,

No future.

And as you continue to observe the mind,

Observe the imagination,

You see the habit of the mind of creating possibilities in the future,

Things that may happen that usually never happen.

And as it does this,

It creates stress,

Tension,

Anxiety over things that may never pass.

You realise this is just a trick of the mind.

The future has not yet come and will never come because it's only ever the present moment in time that exists.

You see that when the mind is discontent,

It creates goals,

Tries to convince you to run after them.

It creates a mindset that makes you think that happiness can only be found in the future.

But you let go of these goals one by one in order to feel the peace,

The stillness that comes from being present.

Just spend a few moments letting go one by one of all the goals that are created by the mind.

Let go of each goal.

Feel the stillness of the present moment.

Observe the breathing.

Let go of all goals.

Let go of all goals.

The future has not yet come.

You cannot live in a future that's uncertain.

You can only live in the now,

In the present moment in time.

Let go of your worries,

Your anxieties about the future.

Because the future has not yet come.

It's only the present moment in time that exists.

Life is a constant,

Eternal now.

The past is gone.

The future has yet to be created.

Life can only ever happen in the now.

Observe the thoughts of imaginary futures,

Pasts that are long gone,

And see that these are simply thoughts.

You don't need to react to them.

You can just watch them as tricks,

Games created by the mind.

As you observe and become detached,

You realize that it's only ever the present moment that exists.

No past,

No future.

Life is happening in the here,

In the now.

The breath anchors you,

Constantly brings you back to the present moment.

It helps you to overcome the tricks of the mind.

The breath brings you to stillness,

The awareness that there never is a future,

A past.

These are just tricks created by the mind.

There only ever is the present moment in time.

This stillness is your true state of being.

This is who you truly are.

Being aware of the breath.

Aware,

Just the present moment.

You make a promise to yourself that throughout the day,

You'll observe your breathing,

Using the breath as an anchor to bring you back to the present moment,

To the awareness that the past,

The future,

Are simply fabrications of the mind.

There is no past,

No future.

Just the constant,

Eternal now.

You remain in peace with this knowledge.

You rub both palms together,

Generating warmth in the palms.

You take the bottoms of the palms over the eyes,

Bringing warmth back into the eyes,

And then you slowly move the hands away,

Slowly opening the eyes.
