Good morning.

Welcome to another glorious day full of opportunity.

This gratitude breath work will help awaken us to the gift of the breath and of life itself.

We're starting with an eight-count breath to help wake up our lungs and nervous system,

Working up to a one-in-one breath.

Starting with an eight-count breath in through the nose,

Out through the mouth,

In just a moment here.

So let's get ready to get started.

In 3,

2,

1,

And in 7,

6,

5,

4,

Out 7,

3,

2,

1,

In.

And as we breathe,

We recognize the gift that it is to have healthy lungs and out.

These lungs that bring air into our bodies,

Providing us with life itself.

This simple but essential gift is something we so often overlook.

We're picking up the pace slightly here,

Moving into an in 4,

Out 4 breath.

Here we go.

In 3,

2,

1,

Out 3,

2,

1,

In,

And out.

Keeping up the pace,

Feeling ourselves come more alive as air brings life into the body,

Thinking of the millions of people alive right now who would give anything to breathe without discomfort.

Getting ready for a nice big inhale in just a few seconds here.

And take it in all the way up as much as you can breathe.

And getting ready to release and hold.

Let it go.

Hold on the exhale.

We're here for about 30 seconds.

Feel the power in your body,

The power of the breath and of life itself.

Feel that energy flowing.

Getting ready in just a moment to move into an up temple breath to energize us.

In 2,

Out 2.

To really finish this off.

In 3,

2,

1,

And in,

Out,

In,

Out.

Keeping up that pace.

You are a powerful being connecting to that power.

Feeling that power rise,

Building.

And we're going to finish off with a 1 in 1 up temple breath followed by a reflection from the Dalai Lama to anchor us into gratitude.

Moving into a 1 count breath.

In,

Out,

In,

Out,

In,

Out.

Keep it up.

In,

Out.

Look at you go.

Keep going.

And on my upcoming cue,

We're going to take a big inhale and hold on that inhale.

In 3,

2,

1,

And inhale.

Take it in as much as you can all the way in.

We're here for 1 minute.

Every day,

Think as you wake up.

Today,

I am fortunate to have woken up.

I am alive and I have a precious human life.

And I'm not going to waste it.

I'm going to use all my energies to expand my heart out to others for the benefit of my friends,

My family,

My community,

And all beings.

I will not be carried away by anger or think badly of others.

I am going to benefit humanity as much as I possibly can.

And so it is.

Allowing these words to be inscribed upon your being and carried forward into the day ahead.

Getting ready to exhale.

Here we go.

And let it go.

Let it all go.

Well friends,

Thank you so much.

You are ready for the day.

Lead with your heart and the rest will surely follow.

We'll see you next time.

I wasn't in a great mood when I started this. By the time I was done, my mood turned around! Thank you for this upbeat exercise!
