Because you are alive,
Everything is possible.
Thich Nhat Hanh The start of something new is a beautiful moment to reset.
Whether it's the start of a new year,
A new season,
Or a new chapter in your life,
It's all a new beginning.
An opportunity to begin again.
To start anew.
To clear the slate and see the world with fresh eyes.
Today's daily practice is all about reset.
And the invitation is to breathe into the areas of your life that feel stagnant.
As a gentle reminder,
We'll begin by breathing in through our mouth,
Exhaling out our mouth.
We'll take a breath hold with the lungs full of oxygen.
We'll switch to nasal breathing,
Breathing in through our nose,
Out through our mouth or nose,
And then we'll hold at the bottom,
Exhaling all the air out of our lungs.
Find a comfortable seat or lie down.
Whichever position you're in,
Gently bring your eyes to close.
Let's start with an inhale through your nose,
Exhale all the air out.
Start to arrive in your body.
Taking a scan from head to toe.
And noticing what's here.
Let's start breathing in through your mouth,
Down into the belly.
That's it.
Fill up the belly.
Imagine the stomach expanding in 360 degrees.
Use the breath.
Clear the slate.
Keep breathing.
You're getting there.
You're doing great.
In through the mouth,
Down into the belly.
Use the breath.
Release any expectation.
Set down the old stories.
Just because it was,
Doesn't mean it has to be the same again.
In 10 seconds,
We'll take a breath hold.
Inhale,
Fill up the lungs.
Exhale all the air out.
Next breath in.
Inhale.
Fill it fully.
Hold the breath at the top.
Where does it still feel stagnant?
It's time to let that go.
When you're ready,
Release the breath.
Switching to nasal breathing.
In through your nose,
Exhaling out nose or mouth.
Continue to send the breath all the way into the belly.
Start to lengthen your exhales.
What does it feel like to begin again?
For a fresh start.
Imagine opening your eyes for the first time.
What colors do you see?
How vibrant are the images?
Keep breathing.
In through your nose,
Down through the belly.
How does it feel to tap into your sense of curiosity?
What does it feel like?
Coming into our final breath hold.
Deep inhale through the nose.
Fill it fully.
Exhale all the air completely.
Last time.
Deep inhale.
Fill up through the nose.
Exhale all the air out.
Hold the breath on empty.
How can you open yourself to the beauty of possibility?
Begin to slow down your breathing.
Coming back to your natural breathing rhythm.
Allowing the breath to really slow down.
As you go about your day,
What's one action that you can take that feels like a fresh start?
Thank you for taking the time for you.
I'll see you next time.
See you again tomorrow.
