Living in a constant mode of productivity, we sometimes miss life passing us by. We aim for our next target, achieve it and then move onto the next without taking the time to pause. When we are always on the go, we often disconnect from the silent whispers our body is communicating, asking us to slow down: the fluttery sensations in our chest, a sense of frenetic energy that prevents us from sitting still. This daily practice allows your breath to anchor you in the present moment. To find a moment to pause, reconnect with your body, and calm your racing thoughts. The quieter you become,

The more you hear.

Ram Dass When we live in a constant state of productivity,

We sometimes miss life as it passes us by.

We aim for our next target,

Achieve it,

And then move on to the next thing,

Without taking the time to pause.

To recognize and celebrate how far we've come.

I know I'm certainly guilty of this.

And the question remains,

Is it a discomfort with sitting still,

Or is it a learned pattern to always be on the go,

That maybe our definition of success was based on how much we accomplish?

And yet,

The irony is,

When we have so much on our plate,

Or take on too much in pursuit of this productivity,

We can get caught in a state of anxiety.

Maybe this manifests as worry about the pressure to get it all done,

Or completing tasks in a frenetic way where we begin to disassociate from our bodies.

Maybe even paralysis in the face of so much overwhelm.

Today's daily practice is all about getting grounded.

How can you breathe into the spaces of your life where you feel scattered,

Disconnected,

Spread thin?

Find a comfortable breathwork posture,

Sitting upright or lying on your back,

Gently bringing your eyes to close.

Bring awareness to your breath,

Noticing your inhales and your exhales.

With every breath,

Feel yourself releasing any tension and relaxing even deeper.

Let's begin.

Deep inhales in through your mouth,

Down into the belly.

That's it.

Allow the torso to expand in 360 degrees.

Use the breath.

Clear away what's no longer serving you.

Exhale the worry.

Where are you feeling disconnected?

Where are you holding that anxiety in your body?

You're doing great.

Keep breathing.

Deep breath in through your mouth,

Down into your belly.

Use the breath.

Take up space.

Let's take our first breath.

Hold.

Inhale.

Fill up your lungs.

Exhale.

Release.

Last time.

Deep breath in and hold at the top.

Release the worry.

Feel into what's true right now.

Let go of the breath.

Switching to breathing in through your nose,

Exhaling out nose or mouth.

Send the breath into where your body meets the ground.

Feel the earth rising up to meet you.

Feel it holding you,

Supporting you.

Breathe in a sense of ease.

Getting ready for your next breath.

Hold.

Deep inhale.

Fill up the lungs.

Empty out all the air.

Last time.

Deep inhale through the nose.

Exhale all the air out,

Holding the breath on empty.

Witness the beauty that is your body.

Come back to your breath.

Deep inhale through your nose.

Exhale all the air out.

As you go about your day,

How can you invite periods of silence or stillness?

Maybe it's the moment before you walk out the door.

Or before you step through a threshold where you pause,

Take a breath and center yourself before taking that next step forward.

A sense of grounding is always available to you.

Just come back to your breath.

Come back to your body.

Thank you for taking the time for you.

I'll see you again tomorrow.
