When the winds of change blow,
Some people build walls and others build windmills.
Chinese proverb The Taoist philosophy of wu-wei translates to effortless action.
It's a practice of non-doing or non-action.
Wu-wei refers to the cultivation of a state of being in which our actions are quite effortlessly in alignment with the ebb and flow of the cycles in the natural world.
The concept explores the idea that when we release our attachment to outcomes and come into a place of stillness,
We allow ourselves to find answers in this state of inaction.
It's going with the flow characterized by great ease and awareness in which without even trying we are able to respond perfectly to whatever situations arise.
Where in your life are you gripping,
Grasping,
Trying to control?
Where instead could you surrender and open yourself to the beauty of possibility to allow life to unfold with greater ease?
Today's invitation is to focus your breath on the parts of your life where you feel stuck.
To begin,
Find a comfortable posture sitting tall or lying down on your back bringing your eyes to close noticing all 10 fingers,
All 10 toes with every breath allowing your body to relax just a little bit deeper.
Let's begin.
Breathing in through your mouth,
Send the breath all the way down into your belly.
Where do you feel stuck?
Use the breath.
Clear away that resistance.
Who or what is in the way?
Keep breathing.
You're doing great.
Deep breaths all the way down into your belly.
Where are you meeting that tension?
Where is it holding itself in your body?
Use the breath.
Allow it to loosen.
Lean into the discomfort.
Peel back the layers.
Dig deeper.
Coming into our first breath hold.
Deep inhale,
Fill up your lungs.
Exhale,
Side out.
Last time.
Deep inhale,
Fill up your lungs.
Hold your breath at the top.
See what's in the way.
Let it go.
When you're ready,
Release the breath.
Switch to breathing in through your nose.
It's okay to feel.
Let it in to let it through.
Allow your exhales to be longer than your inhales.
Still sending your breath all the way down into your belly.
What does ease feel like in your body?
Breathe that in.
Breath hold in 10.
Take a deep inhale.
Fill up your lungs.
Exhale,
Release the breath.
Last time.
Deep inhale,
Fill up your lungs.
Inhale,
Fill up fully.
Exhale,
All the air completely.
Hold your breath at the bottom.
How good could you let yourself feel?
Return to your natural breathing rhythm.
The long life's journey,
You're going to encounter peaks and valleys.
Where can you allow yourself to be present today?
Less doing,
More being.
Thanks for taking the time for you.
I'll see you again soon.
