Have you ever been in a situation or relationship where you were made to feel small?
Maybe you didn't have the capacity to use your voice,
To say what was on your mind,
Or to express what was on your heart.
When we're disconnected from our sense of self,
It takes courage to find our way back,
To remember who we were before taking on the expectations of others,
Taking on the fear of being seen,
Or even to feel vulnerable.
Maybe you learned that holding back was a coping mechanism to help you survive in a previous season of your life,
Where not using your voice kept you safe from ridicule,
Being alienated,
Or not feeling loved.
I hope you can forgive yourself for those times and know that that version of you was just trying to keep you safe.
I hope you know that you have the ability to reconnect with that true sense of you before the trauma,
Before the painful memories.
This isn't about fixing you.
It's about releasing the condition patterning so that you can remember who you are and so that you can reclaim your power within.
For today's daily practice,
I invite you to send your breath to the parts of you that you've given away.
When you're ready,
Find a comfortable breathwork posture,
Sitting tall on your sit bones,
Spine length and long,
Or lying down on your back,
Gently closing your eyes,
Dropping into your body,
Coming into the space with a nice deep inhale,
Filling up through your nose.
Exhale,
Sigh it out.
Ha.
Let's begin.
Deep inhales in through your mouth,
Out through your mouth.
That's it,
Finding your own rhythm.
Use the breath.
Release what's no longer serving you.
Send the breath all the way down into the belly.
What masks are you still wearing?
Do they even belong to you?
Put them down.
Who were you before the world told you who you should be?
Allow your full expression to be seen,
Witnessed and heard.
Deep breathe,
You're doing great.
What stories are you holding on to?
What masks are you still wearing?
Do they even belong to you?
Getting ready for our first breath hold.
Deep inhale,
Fill up the lungs.
Exhale all the air out.
Last time,
Deep inhale,
Fill up,
Sip in a little bit more air and hold the breath at the top.
What stories are you holding on to?
Witness them,
Acknowledge them,
Then set them free.
Breathe in your power,
Breathe in your strength.
Feel how it lands in your body.
What does it feel like to bet on you,
To choose you,
To show up for you?
Breathe that in.
Feel how the breath lengthens your spine and opens your heart space.
Say what your soul needs to say.
Ready for your final breath hold.
Deep inhale,
Fill up the lungs.
Exhale all the way up.
Last time,
Deep eight.
Exhale all the air out.
Hold the breath.
Hold the breath on empty.
Maybe bring one or both of your hands to your heart space.
As we take these final moments to seal our practice,
Thanking yourself for showing up,
For choosing you today.
I'll see you again tomorrow.
