Today we're going to practice the meditation called Light in the Spine.
So go ahead and make yourself comfortable coming into a tall seat,
The spine erect,
And the roof of the mouth floating over the base of the spine,
And the crown of your head lifting toward the ceiling.
And just take a moment to be aware of the spine,
The skeletal structure from the base of the tailbone through the vertebrae,
And all the way up to the center of your brain.
And then bringing your awareness to the base of the tailbone,
And there see a blue flame ignited.
With your next inhale,
See that flame ascend the spine passing through all the vertebrae,
And at the very top of the inhale,
See the flame come to rest at the center of your brain.
As you exhale,
See that same flame descend the spine,
Again passing through the vertebrae,
At the bottom of the exhale coming to rest at the base of the tailbone.
And continue to see that same movement with this light,
With this flame.
Inhale,
Ascending the spine,
And exhale,
Descending the spine.
And each time the flame passes through the spine,
See it burning away any impurities,
Any tension or stress found along the spinal column.
Each pass of the flame leaving the spine a little cleaner,
A little brighter.
Inhale,
The flame ascends the spine,
Exhale,
The flame descends the spine.
This blue flame healing tension where it finds it.
Continue to see the light move for just a few more rounds.
And at the top of your next inhale,
See that blue flame come to rest at the center of your brain,
And leave it there.
See that flame illuminating your mind,
Bathing your brain in a soft blue light,
Casting light to even the darkest corners of your mind,
Focusing on the brain bathed in this soft blue light.
With your next exhale,
See the blue flame descend to the base of the spine,
And there allow the imagery to fade,
But still feel the spine clean,
Stable,
And free of any impurities,
And the mind clean,
Stable,
And free of any impurities.
Taking a deeper,
Fuller breath,
Take your time as you bring your awareness back to the room.
The practice of light in the spine is now complete.
Namaste.
