Hello and welcome.
My name is Yaesha and I'm honored that you're joining me today.
In this session we will tap into and activate our solar plexus chakra.
Within our solar plexus lives a wealth of strength and will.
It's a balance between treating ourselves with compassion but also recognizing how much we are capable of.
And so by tapping into this chakra we're able to bring forth our strength,
Our will,
And discipline to help us achieve goals that are important to us that we really want to follow through with.
The more that we are able to follow through on the goals or promises that we've made to ourself,
The more we begin to trust ourselves.
That when we say,
I am going to do X,
You know that you trust yourself to follow through with that.
Then the anxiety around,
Am I actually going to do this thing,
Melts away because you trust that when you make a promise to yourself you will follow through.
And at the end of the day all of this work that we're doing is to build a better relationship with self.
So without further ado,
Let's begin.
And we'll begin by honing in on what habit,
Goal,
Mindset we are implementing or changing.
So it might be something as simple as,
I want to meditate for five minutes every morning.
Or it could be,
I want to treat myself with more compassion.
Start with just one thing and once you've decided what that is,
We're going to turn it into an I statement that's said in the present tense.
So if you're thinking,
I want to meditate every morning,
Your I statement is going to be,
I meditate every morning.
This is important because we want to tell every cell in our body that we're not going to do this thing in the future,
But that it's actually a part of our current existence.
It's part of our makeup.
It's part of our everyday life.
So we want it to be in the present tense.
I meditate every day.
I treat myself with compassion.
So go ahead and create your I statement now.
If you want to,
You can even write it down so that you have it for future reference.
And once you have that,
I want you to get into a comfortable seated position.
We'll be here for a few minutes,
So you may even want to place a blanket or a block or a pillow underneath your sit bones to allow you to be a little more comfortable.
Relax your shoulders,
Release the tension from your jaw,
From your temples,
From your eyeballs,
From the top of your head.
We'll take a big breath together.
Exhale,
Release your air.
Inhale,
Fill up.
Exhale through your mouth,
Let it go.
Fantastic.
Now place one hand on your abdomen and begin taking large belly breaths in and out of your belly.
As you inhale,
Feel your abdomen fill up with air,
Pushing against your hand.
With your exhale,
Feel as your hand comes back towards your spine.
Inhale,
Fill your abdomen with air.
Exhale,
Release.
Now we're going to move into a type of breath called breath of fire.
This is a great exercise for awakening the solar plexus and it also gives us energy.
We're going to forcefully breathe out of our nose and I only want you to focus on the forceful exhale.
Lips are together and you're forcefully exhaling just out of the nose.
Now with your hand on your abdomen,
With each exhale I want you to really feel as your belly pushes back towards your spine.
So we call this pumping the belly.
If you feel that the breath is coming from further up in the chest,
Place all of your attention on the abdomen and think about pumping the abdomen as you exhale.
So with the exhale the belly button comes back towards the spine forcefully.
You're pumping it.
So we'll do 15 of these together at a slow to moderate pace.
So inhale,
Exhale completely.
Inhale,
Halfway fill.
And exhale,
Pumping the navel.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Let it go.
So we're going to do another round but this time we're going to do 30 and we're going to see if we can go a little faster.
If you feel that as you increase the speed you're moving air more into your chest,
Then slow down.
The biggest part of this breath technique is that you're pumping the abdomen.
You're awakening the solar plexus.
So we really want to keep the movement of the pumping in the abdomen.
Big breath in.
Exhale,
Let it go.
Inhale,
Halfway.
And begin.
Pump the belly.
Forceful exhale.
Through the nose.
10 more breaths.
Big inhale and exhale.
Beautiful job.
We'll do 50 now.
Big inhale in.
Big exhale out.
Inhale,
Halfway.
And begin.
Keep going.
Remember as soon as you start to feel that you're moving air more through your chest,
Slow down the breath and bring your focus back to pumping through the abdomen.
And continue.
10 more.
Big breath in.
Hold at the top.
Keep holding.
And release.
And then bring your breath back to its normal breath.
You can allow the hand that was on the abdomen to drop comfortably into your lap.
Observe.
See what you notice.
Oftentimes after this breath,
People might feel a little light-headed,
Dizzy,
Tingly.
Just allow these sensations to wash over you.
And now bring your attention to your abdomen,
To your solar plexus.
The solar plexus lives just about where the belly button is,
But then bring your attention and your focus towards your spine so that you're right in the center of your body.
And that's where the solar plexus lives.
Bring your attention to this space.
It may feel good to bring that hand right back over the belly button,
Over the solar plexus.
See what you notice.
Maybe a sensation.
Maybe a color.
Maybe a word.
Or maybe you just rest there.
Whatever is coming to you is exactly what's meant to be.
And as you focus on this part of you,
Tap into the strength,
The will,
The discipline,
The energy that exists here.
Feel into it.
Bring your breath back into your abdomen,
Slowly pumping the solar plexus as you take a deep inhale in and your abdomen expands,
And an exhale out and it contracts.
This is a slower way of pumping and activating the solar plexus.
With your attention still here,
Feeling into the resource that is within you that is you.
Say to yourself,
I am strong.
I trust myself.
I stand in my power.
I have all the tools I need to succeed.
And maybe you find one of these resonates,
Or two of these resonate more with you.
Take what connects and clicks and sit with those statements,
Knowing that you can come back to them at any time.
They will be just as true in the future as they are in this very moment.
Now bring your I statement that we created at the beginning of this session.
Visualize it hovering just above the crown of your head.
It might look like a symbol,
The words might be written out.
However,
It shows up for you.
See it hovering there.
Feel it hovering there.
And with your next inhale,
Draw it through the crown of your head,
Down into your throat,
Into your heart,
And finally into your solar plexus,
Right underneath your hand.
Feel your powerful I statement connecting with the energy and the resolve of your solar plexus.
And then repeat your statement to yourself,
Silently or out loud,
Three times.
Release your hand from your abdomen.
Let's take a big breath together.
Exhale,
Release your air.
Inhale,
Fill.
Exhale,
Release.
Fantastic work.
Feel free to revisit this session as much as feels good to you.
You can also take pieces of it with you.
You can do the breath of fire just for a minute or two to activate your solar plexus.
Or when you're at a stoplight,
You may choose to say your I statement to yourself.
I would encourage when you're implementing a new habit that you do something every single day to connect with that habit so it stays in your conscious brain,
So it stays with your present.
Thank you so much for joining me and I will see you soon.
