Take some time for yourself with this guided tea meditation.
Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit.
And enjoy your tea.
As you prepare your favourite cup of tea,
Whether it's herbal,
Green,
Black.
Any other variety.
Pay attention to the steps that you take.
To make it just the way you like it.
Choose a tea that you enjoy.
Which brings you comfort.
And as it's ready,
Please sit in front of you and pause for a moment.
Sit with your back straight,
Your hands resting on the lap.
Close your eyes and take a slow,
Deep breath in.
Gently.
Gracefully.
Release the breath.
As you exhale,
Imagine yourself in a beautiful,
Tranquil space.
Perhaps in a cosy room with soft lighting.
Allow yourself to fully immerse within this space.
Within your imagination.
Gently open your eyes.
Shift your gaze towards your cup of tea.
Taking in the color.
The steam rising from the surface.
And the wee fills the cup.
Pay attention to any reflections.
Or ripples on the liquid surface.
As you observe your cup of tea.
Perhaps you notice things that you didn't see before.
Perhaps the color,
The tea.
Is different than you imagined.
Often times colours can be made up lots of different shades.
Notice what your tea looks like.
Pay closer attention to the steam.
Rising in the pattern.
Swirling from the surface of your tea into the air around you.
Take a moment to inhale the aroma of the tea.
Notice the scent drifting from the cup.
And how it makes you feel in this moment.
Gently.
Take the cup into your hands.
Feel the warmth against your skin.
Take a moment to reflect mindfully.
On the journey this tea has taken.
From the leaves in the field.
All the way to the cup in your hands.
Allow a feeling of gratitude to arise.
Pour this cup of tea.
For the people who cultivated it.
Harvested it.
And prepared it.
For you.
Each step along the journey.
We can express gratitude for each individual.
Involved in the process.
Bring in your team.
As you do,
Recognise the interconnectedness of all these experiences.
Take a small,
Mindful sip of your tea.
Feel the warm liquid flowing into your mouth.
Flowing over your tongue.
And down your throat.
Savor the taste.
Notice where you experience the taste within your mouth.
Notice the temperature of your tea.
And how it makes you feel.
Pay attention.
To how the tea feels as it moves through your body.
Warming and comforting you.
From the inside.
Continue to take slow,
Mindful,
Deliberate sips.
Stainfully present.
With each one.
As you sit back and sip your tea,
Allow yourself to fully embrace the present moment.
Let go of any worries Any plans?
Your regrets.
This present moment is all that matters.
And as you enjoy your tea,
The sensation of relaxation and contentment that arises from being fully present.
With the last sip of tea.
Place the empty cup back onto the saucer.
Or onto your mat.
Take a deep breath.
Just open your eyes.
Bring your awareness back to the room you're in.
Carrying with you the sense of calm and presence you've cultivated during this meditation.
Remember that you can carry this sense of mindfulness into your daily life.
Even when you're not drinking tea.
It's a practice that can help you find peace and presence in any moment.
Thank you for taking time to enjoy your tea mindfully.
