Inspired by Miley Cyrus's Grammy Award speech. To stop chasing the butterfly, to capture it. Instead, put down your butterfly net, let go, and surrender to allow for the butterfly to come to you and land right on the tip of your nose. Have a listen, and let me know how it 'lands' with you.

Hi,

Welcome.

My name is Chathna and I'm so glad you found this meditation.

It has been a while since I have uploaded a recording but here we go.

So this one I have entitled The Butterfly Net and most of the meditations are inspired.

So this one was inspired by Miley Cyrus listening to her speech that she gave on winning her first Grammy for the best pop solo performance this year for her song Flowers.

In her acceptance speech she shared a metaphor that illustrated her feelings about finally winning a Grammy.

She said,

So there was a little boy that all he wanted for his birthday was a butterfly and so his parents gave him a butterfly net and he was so excited.

He just went outside out in the sun and just started swinging and swinging the butterfly net to catch a butterfly but with no luck.

Then after a while he sat down in the grass.

He finally let go and as he lay back on the grass and surrendered he was okay that he wasn't going to capture this beautiful butterfly.

And right then just as he surrendered is when the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of his nose and this song Flowers is her butterfly.

So this meditation is inspired by this metaphor.

Begin to settle allowing your body to feel heavy letting the earth support you letting the earth support you and as you close your eyes and soften your muscles on each exhale bring awareness to that breath for a few cycles of inhales and exhales and then slowly allowing the breath to fall into its natural rhythm nothing is being forced letting the body relax on each exhale feeling a lightness on your left side on your right side letting any heaviness to peel away layer by layer as you do so begin to take your focus within to the center of your heart you have your desires,

Your dreams you have your goals,

You want success society tells you to be moving towards what is defined as success you have set goals for the year you may have created a vision board it is there you can see it you see it every day you have expectations you feel the small pressures of how you will achieve your dreams your dreams you feel the small pressures of how you will achieve your dreams your desires,

Your goals you have them as conscious reminders you're trying hard really hard every day you're working hard towards them you're giving it all your attention the blood,

The sweat,

The tears your ego is guiding you you breathe in you breathe out you stay you see your journey your path ahead of you your step grounding you you're not the only one with dreams and desires you cannot let go of all the striving completely you know you need to connect with yourself to grow to step beyond comfort zones to experience life to love to be loved to make a difference in your life and to those of others as you take each step you allow your mind to settle on its own you begin to surrender to gain an insight into yourself you allow the voice of your ego to be distant as you connect to your higher self you begin to recognise that you have dreams you have desires you have goals and the needs to be successful but at this precise moment you relinquish all the effort the only thing that matters is you your natural breath and your being your natural breath and your being any striving any pushing any sense of force is let go you're here you have surrendered to this practice surrendered all effort surrendered all sweating and striving surrendered all sense of doing anything at all there's nothing that you need to do let go of all fears let go of all concerns letting go of everything that's so important letting go of anything you're obsessing about let go of your ideas about who you are letting go of the sense that there is nothing wrong with you you're letting go of the constant you're letting go of the content of any sensory experience whatever you're thinking or feeling is fine don't change it you are safe you are supported you are protected you are completely and utterly surrendering yourself you're not holding anything back there is no part of you of yourself that is outside of this surrender somehow watching it controlling it or seeing how it's going surrender your feelings surrender wanting to control surrender your mind let go let go letting go of letting go putting down your butterfly net you allow yourself to effortlessly swim in the ocean of your internal experience it will boil you up every time there's nothing at all that you need to do or be in this place of surrender there's only love and support only peace and clarity they exist like the nature of reality they simply are they will scoop you up and hold you everything is all right you are fine there is nothing to change in this moment you feel the love the freedom and peace your dreams your desires your goals are there but you are not tied to them each day you love and move through your day with the same energy sense of freedom you have put your own butterfly net down you are at ease and you face your face each day with freedom and you know your desires your dreams your goals will come as they do not define you you are true to yourself you breathe in you let it go you feel a sense of peace clarity and freedom you are coming back you gently open your eyes you stay you feel the freedom the peace you are true to yourself namaste
