Let's find a comfortable place for our body.
Having a little fidget while we find that comfortable place.
Our legs,
Somewhere they can be still,
At ease,
All the joints in a neutral position.
Our spine is lengthening with our next in-breath and as we breathe out,
Soften our shoulders,
Allow our arms to come to rest somewhere comfortable.
Taking one or two deeper breaths,
As we take our attention inwards.
Let's allow the outside world to manage without us for a little while.
Attend to our inner world.
Greeting our breath,
And our body,
Our emotions,
Our mental energy,
Our motivation,
Our spirit.
Noticing and welcoming all the different aspects of us,
Inviting them to be here with us,
However you find those bits of you.
Please know that if your mind is very scattered,
It's just how it is today,
A symptom of stress.
All we do,
If our mind has wandered,
Is bring it back and see if you can do that with the patience you might have for a puppy.
Wander,
Come back.
Wander,
Come back.
It's the very best thing you can do for yourself,
Without any criticism,
Without any judgement.
Just return.
So,
Let's use the breath and the visualisation to take us into that quiet,
Alpha state.
We're going to soften our body as well.
So even if we're seated,
We can soften.
Let's allow our scalp and our forehead to soften a little.
Our expression melting.
Our neck spacious and comfortable.
Shoulders releasing.
Allow gravity to draw them down a little.
Arms soft and heavy somewhere.
Chest and upper back softening into a neutral position,
And yet still a little bit tall.
We want to balance the lengthening and the relaxation,
Both relaxed and alert.
A bit of both.
Our stomach area,
Mid-back,
Softening.
Lower back,
Belly,
Softening into that neutral position.
Spacious,
We've not slumped.
We're still a little bit relaxed.
Allowing the muscle tension to flow out of the lower part of our body.
Your hips and upper legs,
Our lower legs and our feet.
Heavy,
Stable,
Comfortable.
And for a few moments,
We find mental relaxation.
By imagining a place we love to be.
And taking ourselves there in as much detail as we can.
Wherever it is,
Isn't important.
It's how we feel when we're there.
Visualising the place.
And feeling how we feel when we go there.
The things we can see.
Maybe the sounds.
The scent on the breeze.
Maybe there are physical sensations.
Movement or warmth or coolness.
Make it work for you.
Allow it to be comfortable and easy for you.
And feel your body respond to this ease.
Feel your mind relax into this place.
Allow it to do so.
And now,
Let's allow ourselves to connect with all that is,
Using our breath.
To inhale from our heart space,
All the way up through our central column.
Out the top of our head,
Into the vastness of infinity above us.
And on an exhale,
Coming back down into our body through our heart.
And out into the earth beneath us.
Inhale up.
All the way up.
And down.
And let's allow the breath to settle into an easy pattern.
And let's allow the breath to settle into an easy pattern.
We don't want any strain in the breath.
It's our imagination that is stretching.
Up to the highest vibration we can conceive of when we act without inhale.
And on an easy exhalation,
To connect with the earth,
To ground ourselves in her stability.
We need to be grounded to connect with that high,
High vibration of the eternal living light.
We need both.
Allow our mind and our breath to spread out our awareness.
Connecting to heaven,
What we might call heaven.
Connecting to earth,
At least we can be sure about that.
And drawing them both together.
And drawing them both together.
Connecting them with our mind.
With our consciousness.
With your next in-breath,
And as we connect to that highest vibration,
The eternal living light,
I invite you to rest there.
Keep your awareness there.
Just feeling as best you can.
In the very beginning,
There was oneness.
Before time,
Before space,
There was one awareness.
Most of this is beyond words,
Because our words are rooted in time and space.
The concepts that our words reflect,
Mostly reflect time and space.
So I'm just going to call it oneness.
All that is.
That oneness knew itself as magnificent.
At least,
It conceived of itself as beautiful,
As whole,
As one.
And yet,
It longed to experience itself.
And because there was only one,
Like a person without a mirror,
Couldn't see itself.
And so,
It conceived of the plan to become two.
And then it would be able to experience itself,
To know itself.
Before there was two,
There was only theory.
And when it divided,
Then it could actually experience,
Know itself,
As magnificent.
That's all that is.
That's all that is.
To see and feel how it acts,
How its awareness even works.
And as I tell the story,
If you become too spaced out,
Feel solidity beneath you.
The stability of the earth beneath you.
And so,
When all that is created two,
Duality was born.
Polarity was born.
Because the way you experience joy,
Is by knowing what not joy is.
The way you experience peace,
By experiencing the lack of peace.
To know yourself as generous,
You need someone to give to.
To know yourself as a being of love,
You also need to know what the lack of love feels like.
Duality was created.
Duality was created.
So the eternal living light could experience its greatness.
It had to know what being not great feels like.
And once the two was born,
The many were created.
The 10,
000 things,
As the Tao would call them,
Maybe now we'd call them the 10 trillion things,
Time and space,
Were born.
And so we know we live in a world of duality.
We experience love and the lack of love.
We know what that feels like.
We experience joy and the lack of joy.
Fear and its opposite,
Love.
And we know these things well.
And sometimes we get lost in the 10,
000 things.
And sometimes we get overwhelmed by those experiences.
There's so many of them.
But I invite you to remember today that you are part of that one,
That original one.
A facet,
A fractal of that eternal living light because there is nothing else.
Everything,
All that is seen and unseen,
Was created,
Was divided up from the Oneness.
You,
Everything you can see,
Feel and experience,
The non-physical world,
All of time,
All of space,
And maybe what is beyond that.
Is the eternal living light knowing itself,
Joyfully experiencing itself,
Because that's all it wanted to do.
The Creator,
The One,
Gave everything one gift,
Free will,
So we could create and create and create and create.
Create and create so we may experience everything.
Those 10,
000 things growing and creating with each choice we make,
We create and we grow as we experience.
Our soul,
Which is perhaps you might describe it as a little bit closer to that original created being,
More connected to the awareness of that original created being.
It conceives a desire to know,
To be,
Whatever it might be,
To experience something here in the physical world.
Our mind creates it by focusing on that desire,
That conception of what we want to experience,
What our soul wants to experience.
It is created in the physical.
Our physical body then experiences it.
And then we may choose again,
We may conceive another desire,
Maybe we didn't enjoy that last experience,
And we create a new desire.
And you may say to me,
Wait a minute,
I didn't want to create that last thing,
That was horrible.
But it is with our awareness and with the focus of our mind that we create.
And so I offer to you,
Learn to watch your mind.
Improve and increase your self-awareness so that in each moment we create deliberately,
Consciously,
What we now as mature beings choose.
We have experienced lack of love enough now to know that's all we want.
We've experienced lack of peace endlessly.
We know now to only choose peace.
And we've done the absence of joy a lot.
Let us now use our focus to be joy and experience it.
I invite you to rest.
Your soul conceiving of the next desire.
Your mind fixing,
Focusing upon it.
And your body joyously awaiting the creation of it.
Taking a few more restful breaths,
Knowing how important you are to creation,
To all that is.
God experiences itself through you.
What do you choose now?
Feeling your physical body.
Feeling the power that your physical body has.
The purpose of it being here.
To experience.
And so let us slowly begin our transition back to the external world.
Taking one or two deeper breaths.
And gently and easily moving your body.
Having a few little stretches.
And maybe a few bigger stretches.
And noticing the world around you again.
Thank you for practicing with me.
