This meditation is to manage and balance our energy with the qualities of the chakra.
So please find a comfortable position to sit in.
Put your body somewhere where you can be comfortable and still for a little while and bring your attention to your body and your breath.
As we inhale we can straighten our spine a little bit and as we exhale we can soften a little bit,
Relaxing into our chair.
Let's take one or two deeper breaths as we become more relaxed and quieter.
Exhaling the flow of the breath into and out of the body.
Let's physically relax the body.
Starting at the top and allowing the muscles of the face to soften and relax.
The jaw and the neck to become more relaxed.
The shoulders releasing and softening.
The arms and hands relaxed and comfortable.
Chest and the torso more relaxed and with a little bit of muscle tone to hold us up if we are sitting.
The buttocks and the thighs,
The calves,
Ankles and the feet relaxed,
Comfortable,
Quiet.
I'm going to invite you to check in now and ask what is your energy like right now?
Physically?
Mentally?
Emotionally?
Spiritually?
Plan as best we can,
Accepting how we're showing up in the present moment.
I'm going to invite you to bring your attention to your breath.
The next time you inhale,
Allow your attention to travel from the base of your spine up to the crown of your head and exhaling allowing your attention to glide down your spine to your tailbone.
Inhaling to the crown of your head,
Exhaling to your tailbone.
Exhaling your breath to be comfortable.
Focus engaging the logical mind and slightly lengthening and deepening the breath without forcing.
Let's extend that breathing practice now.
So next time we exhale,
Let's allow our attention to glide down our spine,
Emerge from the bottom of our tailbone down through a tube of light into the earth.
We can visualize it connecting with the earth in any way that's comfortable for us.
When we inhale next,
We can inhale from the earth,
Up the column of light through our spine and out the top of our head into the vast space above us.
Exhaling down the column of light through the top of our head,
Down our spine,
Out into the earth,
Connecting with the earth.
Inhaling into the infinity above us,
Exhaling connecting with the earth beneath our feet.
The breath is comfortable and at ease.
Can we get a sense of how we are connecting the earth?
And the cosmos above us.
Finding our place between heaven and earth.
Sensing them through ourselves with our being.
Exhaling that breathing practice and again checking in to see how our energy is after that practice.
How do we feel now?
So I invite you to take your attention to the base of your spine,
Your sit bones.
In the yoga tradition,
This is the location of the root chakra.
The qualities of the root chakra are our physical embodiment,
Safety,
Stability,
Solidity.
And I invite you to notice what comes up for you when you hear these phrases.
Sensing.
Physical health.
Our security.
Our existence.
And from our place of calmness and centeredness.
Is this something we can choose to improve on?
Is this something we choose to enhance for our best sense of self?
For our highest outcome?
Are we already really strong and vibrant here?
Not from a sense of judgment or self-criticism and noticing if we have judgment and self-criticism.
Not from a place of choice and moving towards our best self.
If it helps you can visualize this as a red light at your tailbone,
At your sit bones.
Allowing the attention to move up to a region just between our navel and our tailbone.
Around our sacrum.
This is our sacral chakra.
If you if it helps you can visualize that as orange.
Here we hold our creativity.
Our passion.
Our pleasure.
Sensuality and sexuality.
How do we feel when those characteristics are brought up for our awareness?
How do we react?
Maybe we'll choose to dance more.
Whatever we choose,
Can we choose it with a sense of growth and exploration?
And allowing how we find ourselves already.
