Begin by finding a comfortable position.
Whether seated or laying down.
Allow your body to settle.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing you need to achieve.
Nothing you need to figure out.
Simply allowing yourself this time to be present with you.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable or hold a soft gaze.
Take a slow,
Easy breath in.
And a long gentle breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Allowing each exhale to invite a little more softening.
A little more settling.
A little more arriving.
Bring your awareness to the places where your body meets the surface beneath you.
Feeling the support that is already there.
Noticing the weight of your body.
Allowing yourself to be held.
Begin to scan through your body.
Bringing your awareness to your feet.
Noticing any sensations there.
Warmth or coolness.
Tingling.
Heaviness,
Or perhaps very little sensation at all.
Whatever is present is welcome.
Allow your awareness to move slowly through your legs.
Your knees.
Your thighs.
Simply noticing.
Without needing anything to change.
Bringing your awareness into your hips and pelvis.
The place that carries so much of our movement through life.
Notice what is here.
Move your awareness to your belly and allow it to soften.
Noticing the rise and fall as you breathe naturally.
The expansion and release.
Bringing your awareness into your chest.
Your heart space.
Noticing any sensations.
Any feelings that may be present.
Without judging them.
Without trying to make them different.
Simply acknowledge what is here.
Allow your awareness to travel into your shoulders.
Your arms.
Your hands.
Noticing what they may be holding.
And perhaps allowing them to soften just a little.
Bring your awareness to your neck.
Your jaw,
Your mouth.
Your tongue.
Noticing if there is any tension.
Any holding.
Simply becoming aware.
And bringing your attention to your throat.
A place through which your voice emerges.
Not trying to do anything.
Just noticing.
You you How does this area feel?
Open Restricted.
More.
Quiet.
Alive.
Numb There is no right answer.
Only information.
Take a gentle breath.
And allow your awareness to expand.
And notice what you notice.
Now imagine before you a space,
A landscape.
A field of awareness.
There is no need to create anything.
Simply noticing what begins to emerge.
Within this space,
Invite your voice to appear.
Not the sound of your voice.
But your voice itself.
The essence of it.
Allow it to show itself in whatever way it chooses.
Perhaps it appears as a person.
A child.
An elder.
An animal.
A shape,
A color,
A symbol.
A sensation.
Or perhaps something entirely unexpected.
Trust whatever arrives.
And if nothing appears immediately,
That's perfectly okay too.
Simply remain curious.
Take a moment to observe.
How does your voice appear?
What does it look like?
How does it seem?
Strong or fragile.
Confident.
Or hesitant.
Playful or serious.
Close or distant.
Large or small.
Bright.
Or hidden.
Simply noticing.
Allow yourself to become aware of where your voice is positioned in relation to you.
Is it standing beside you?
In front of you.
Behind you.
Far away.
Very close.
Above you.
Below you.
Observe the relationship.
Without trying to change it.
Simply witnessing what is.
You you Notice how it feels to see your voice in this way.
What sensations arise within your body.
What emotions emerge?
What thoughts come and go?
Allowing everything to be included.
As though you are observing a living relationship.
Now gently acknowledge your voice.
Perhaps with a silent greeting.
A simple hello.
Or an acknowledgement that you see it.
Notice how your voice responds.
Does anything shift?
Does it move?
Does it remain still?
Again.
Simply noticing.
Now with curiosity,
Ask your voice,
How are you?
Allow space.
There is no need to force an answer.
Simply listening.
Perhaps words arise.
Perhaps images?
Perhaps sensations.
Perhaps unknowing.
Or perhaps silence.
Whatever comes is welcome.
Then ask.
What would you like me to know?
Pause.
Listening.
Receiving.
Allowing.
Without analysing.
Without needing to understand everything.
Trusting that whatever emerges has value.
Now ask your voice,
What have you been carrying for me?
Take your time.
Listening.
Observing.
Perhaps your voice reveals burdens it has held.
Words unspoken.
Truths withheld.
Dreams waiting.
Responsibilities.
Expectations.
Stories inherited from family,
Culture.
Community.
Or past experiences.
Simply witnessing whatever is shown.
Without judgment.
Without needing to change it.
What have you been carrying for me?
You you And now ask.
What do you need from me?
Allow the answer to emerge.
Perhaps your voice desires more space.
More trust.
More expression.
More play.
More courage.
More rest.
More listening.
Or perhaps something entirely different.
Receiving whatever comes.
What do you need from me?
Now notice whether your voice would like to move.
Not because it should.
But because it can.
If your voice could be positioned in a way that feels more supportive.
Where would it naturally like to be?
Allow the image to unfold.
Perhaps it comes closer.
Perhaps it stands beside you.
Perhaps it takes its place within you.
Perhaps nothing changes at all.
Trust what arises.
Notice how your body responds.
What sensations are present now?
What feels different?
What feels familiar.
Take a moment to simply be with your voice.
Nothing to do.
Nothing to fix.
Just being together.
Allowing a relationship.
Allowing connection.
Recognizing that your voice is not separate from you.
And yet it has its own wisdom.
Its own experience.
Its own story.
Take a gentle breath.
And if it feels appropriate.
Thank your voice.
For all it has carried.
For all it has protected.
For all it has expressed.
And for all that still wishes to emerge.
Allow the image of your voice to remain.
Soften or fade into the background.
Knowing you can return to this relationship whenever you choose.
Before we complete this journey.
Take a moment to become curious.
Was this the whole of your voice?
Or perhaps just one expression within the larger landscape.
There may be a constellation of voices within you.
The voice that protects.
The voice that creates.
The voice that nurtures.
The voice that speaks truth.
The voice that has yet to be fully heard.
Today's journey may have introduced you to one of them.
The others can be met another time.
Simply remain open to what wishes to reveal itself.
Bring your awareness back to your throat.
Noticing any sensations there.
And back to your breath.
The rise and fall.
The movement of life within you.
Bringing awareness back into your chest.
Your belly.
Your hips.
Your legs.
Your feet.
Feeling the support beneath you once again.
Become aware of your surroundings.
Beginning to notice sounds.
Notice the space you are in.
Taking your deeper breath in.
And slowly exhaling.
Gently wiggling your fingers and toes.
Allowing movement to return to your body.
And when you are ready.
Opening your eyes.
Returning to the room.
Bringing with you whatever insights,
Awareness or possibilities emerged today.
Knowing that your voice is not something you need to find.
It is a relationship you can continue to cultivate.
And that relationship begins with listening.
