A walk in the forest. Allowing you to harness the power of mother nature to instill stillness and calm throughout your being. A guided walk through the forest to evoke the power of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing). A technique used by the Japanese to bathe and bask in the forest.

Hello,

This meditation is a gentle relaxing and inviting walk through the forest.

Having a nice comfortable seat or lying down in a soothing space.

Popping a pillow underneath your knees or behind your sit bones.

Moving the body in a way that invites softness and stillness.

Once you have arrived in that particular space,

Gently begin to rest your eyes closed.

Take a deep inhale through the nose.

A sigh out of the mouth.

Beginning to imagine yourself walking on a path through the forest.

A path of soft beneath your shoes.

A mixture of soil,

Fallen leaves,

Pine needles and moss.

As you walk,

Your body relaxes and your mind clears.

More and more with each step you take.

Breathe in the fresh mountain air.

Filling your lungs completely.

Now exhale,

Breathe out all the air.

Feeling refreshed.

Take another deep inhale,

Revitalizing.

And exhale completely,

Letting your body relax further.

Continue to breathe slowly and deeply as you walk through the forest.

The air is cool,

Comfortable.

The sun filters through the trees,

Making a moving,

Dappled pattern on the ground before you.

Listen to the sounds of the forest.

Birds singing.

A gentle breeze blowing.

Bleeds on the trees,

Shifting and swaying in soft wind.

Your body relaxes more and more as you walk.

Count your steps and breath.

Unison with your strides.

Breathe in.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

Breathe in.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

Breathe in.

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold.

Breathe out.

Continue to breathe slowly like this.

Slowly and deeply as you become more and more relaxed.

As you walk through the forest,

Visualisation,

Feel your muscles relaxing and lengthening as your arms swing in rhythm with your walking.

They become loose,

Limp.

Your back is relaxing as your spine lengthens and each muscle releases.

Feel the tension leaving your body as you admire the scenery around you.

Your legs and lower body drip into the earth.

Feeling free and relaxed as you continue to walk through the forest.

You begin to climb up a slight incline.

You easily tread along smooth rocks on the path,

Feeling at one with nature.

The breeze continues to blow through the treetops and you are sheltered on the path.

The air around you is calm.

Small,

Delicate saplings grow at the sides of the path.

Around you is an immense array of greens.

Some of the leaves on the trees are delicate,

Light green.

Some leaves are deep,

Dark,

True forest greens.

Many trees have needles that look very soft and very green.

The forest floor is thick green moss.

Tall trees grow on either side of the path.

Picture the variety of trees around you.

Some are smooth,

White bark.

Others are darker,

With coarse,

Heavy bark,

Deeply grooved.

Enjoy the colours of the bark on the trees,

White,

Tan,

Brown,

Red,

Black.

Many combinations of colour.

You admire the rough,

Brown,

Dark of the pine trees and enjoy the fresh pine scent.

The forest.

All around you,

That smell of fresh air.

And filled with the scent of trees and soil and mountain stream.

As you continue to walk through the forest,

You are getting closer to the sound of a running stream.

Continue to enjoy the forest around you.

As you near the top of the mountain,

You hear the stream very close now.

On the path curves up ahead.

You can see sunlight streaming onto the path.

As you are round the corner,

You hear the water.

You see the clearing in the trees up ahead.

A beautiful outlook point awaits.

You are growing tired of your journey.

The body feels pleasantly tired and heavy.

Imagine yourself walking towards the clearing,

The stream.

Stepping stones make each path across the stream towards the edge of the mountain.

Step on each large flat stone to easily cross the small shallow stream.

Up ahead is a large smooth rock.

Just like a chair waiting for you to rest.

The rock is placed perfectly high up this beautiful vantage point.

Sit or lie on the rock if you wish.

It is very comfortable.

You feel very comfortable and at ease.

The sun shines down on you.

Looking around you,

You see the mountains in the vast wonder of the space.

The trees in the distance,

The birds flying over.

The clouds moving ever so gently across the sky above.

Feeling that sun warmth the body from above.

You allow your eyes to just gently rest at the sky's surface.

This majestic landscape around you.

You feel relaxed.

You feel calm.

You feel at peace.

The nature is all around you.

You feel relaxed.

You feel at peace.

The nature is all around you.

When you are ready to leave this peaceful place,

Slowly begin to reawaken your body.

Know that you can return to the forest in your imagination whenever you like.

As you gently start to awaken yourself,

Keep this feeling of this peace and calm and relaxation.

Begin to gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Taking another deep inhale through the nose.

Sigh out of the mouth.

Two more like this,

Breathe in through the nose.

As you gently start to flicker your eyes open,

Look around,

Bringing your awareness into your space but with this new vision,

This calming,

Soft,

Scented,

Restored vision.

When you are ready,

Bow to yourself in gratitude.
