Welcome.
This is a short meditation for moments when the mind keeps searching for answers,
Solutions,
Or even relief.
You don't need to understand anything right now.
You don't even need to fix what you're feeling.
For the next few minutes you can let this moment be exactly as it is.
So begin by letting the body settle wherever you are.
You don't even need a special posture.
Just allow gravity to do some of the work for you.
Notice where your body is supported.
The chair,
The floor,
Or even the bed beneath you.
Let that support be there without adjusting it.
And now gently bring your attention to your breath.
Now not changing it,
Not even improving it,
Just noticing that breathing is already happening.
The mind starts offering suggestions,
Plans,
Or even commentary.
You don't even need to argue with it.
You're not trying to stop thoughts.
You're simply not required to follow it right now.
And so silently say to yourself,
I don't need to fix this moment.
Notice what happens when you say that.
There may be a softening or even nothing at all,
And either is fine.
So feel the next breath arrive on its own.
There is no effort needed here.
And if discomfort is present,
Emotional or even physical,
See if it can be allowed without explanation.
Not understood and not even solved.
Just felt.
The urge to fix is a habit.
It's not a command.
And for these few minutes you'll be allowed to rest from it.
So again,
Quietly say,
This moment doesn't need my correction.
So let sounds come and go.
Let sensations rise and fall.
And let your thoughts appear and fade.
You're not required to do anything with them.
So notice that awareness itself is untouched by what passes through it,
Like a sky that doesn't need to manage the weather.
So rest here for a few breaths.
There's nothing to reach,
Nothing to improve,
And nothing to complete.
And when you're ready,
Gently feel the body again.
The contact with the surface beneath you.
And when you open your eyes or return to activity,
See if you can carry just a trace of this permission with you.
The permission to let at least one moment be unfixed.
Good work today and namaste.
