Most people live with a quiet tension just beneath the ribs — a subtle holding born of control, protection, and emotional residue. This guided meditation invites you to bring awareness to the solar plexus and to meet whatever is felt there with present attention. As the energy softens, what once felt contracted begins to open. Beneath the surface of effort and resistance lies a profound stillness — a vastness that has always been here, waiting to be recognised. This practice is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike. It asks only one thing: a willingness to stay present with what is being felt and experienced.

Go ahead and close your eyes.

And just allow your body to relax.

Just start to connect with your body.

Allow your shoulders to relax.

And start to become aware of how it is inside of yourself today,

Right now.

Let any tensions go.

And see if you might be able to just connect with a sense of ease,

Stillness,

Peace.

Even if the mind is still quite active,

You might also be able to just sense a sense of ease and relaxation as well.

If there's any tensions or disturbances that you feel,

Just being fully aware,

Being present with whatever you're feeling in your body,

Whether it's nice and peaceful or maybe perhaps a bit uncomfortable,

It's really being present to all that's inside of you at this moment.

And just being really relaxed with it and easy with it.

Just connecting,

Take this moment to really connect within and bring your attention now to the sensation in your hands.

My experiences as warmth or tingling,

Heat or heaviness,

Just being very still,

Very peaceful within.

If it's not so still inside,

That's fine.

And it's just being present with however it is for you right now.

We bring our attention to the sensation,

To the hands,

Just to start connecting with the ground of our body,

A body sensation,

Just really allowing yourself to relax into this place more and more,

Just letting go,

Letting go of any tensions,

Really being easy.

We've got the sensation in the hands and bringing your attention to the sensation in your feet as well,

Just allowing yourself really to connect more deeply within,

Connecting with the sensation of the body eventually brings us the state of being where we're just in our natural state,

The state of being,

Just feels a sense of wholeness or completeness,

A state of being,

And focusing on the sensation just helps to quieten down the body,

Quieten down the mind so that we can begin to consciously connect with the state of being,

Our natural present state.

And if you're not able to consciously connect with it at the moment,

It's just really being fully with,

Fully aware of what is happening for you,

What is happening in you right now.

And by doing that,

Being with that,

That will gradually allow you to deepen,

To pass through whatever it is you're feeling,

But you can't skip over it,

You have to really be with it consciously,

Bring your awareness to everything that's happening inside of you.

And the being is there,

The state of being that we are is there,

It's always there,

It just might not be fully noticed because of disturbance or tension that's getting more attention.

So just allowing yourself to fully relax,

Fully be at ease,

Just to fully let go,

This is the natural state of our body,

Just to be in this state of being,

This is where our well-being comes from,

The body's well-being,

It's there in the tummy,

Just draw your attention to the solar plexus,

Which is kind of at the top of the tummy,

Bottom of the breastbone there,

Right in the center,

It's a very sensitive area,

And this has a different quality to it.

I'll just give you a moment just to connect with that area,

Just take your time,

It can't,

Definitely can't be rushed,

In the solar plexus we can really start to perceive a greater expanse,

A greater vastness,

The solar plexus itself doesn't really have much sensation there at all,

And that's the power of it,

Of the stillness,

The immediacy that's there in the solar plexus,

And there's an immediacy,

A swiftness to connecting with it,

There's really nothing for the mind to hold onto or grasp hold of,

It's just really a state,

A depth,

A vastness,

Sometimes you might experience it as,

Even though you're focusing on the front,

The top of the tummy,

Below the sternum,

In the front there,

You can feel right behind at the back and kind of open up,

A bit of a blackness there,

You may or may not experience it,

These are different things that can happen at different times,

And it's opening up to a greater perspective,

Not just so personal,

Really something more universal,

And I often say it's,

If you've seen a starry night sky out in the country where there's no light pollution,

The vastness,

The multiplicity of all the stars in the sky,

You really have seen that,

Or are in awe of that,

That's similar,

That's an external representation of what is here in the solar plexus,

What we're connecting with,

So just keep your attention there,

Just be nice and relaxed,

No trying,

No tensing,

Just be nice and easy,

And just allow it to happen,

If you drift off,

Just bring your attention back,

Back to the solar plexus,

It's a place of absolute presence,

It's just immediacy to it,

There's no thoughts that can survive in the immediacy of this solar plexus,

This presence,

You may experience glimpses of it,

And then kind of go off of it again,

But then just come back,

Bring your attention back,

Being,

Continuing to be really relaxed and easy,

Keeping the focus there on the solar plexus,

As I said,

There's not really anything tangible to it,

Very little,

But there's an energetic quality,

When you connect with it,

You'll know it,

Even if only for a brief moment,

Keeping the attention here,

In the solar plexus,

Really present,

Immediate,

And just see what happens.

Okay,

So,

Just staying in this place,

Really being with this,

When you feel ready,

Go ahead and open your eyes,

And come back into your senses,

And just remain,

Take this place with you,

This state of being,

This presence,

And when you feel ready,

You can gradually wiggle your toes,

Stretch,

And go on with your day.
