In this short talk, Zen teacher Mark Kuren Westmoquette unpacks the practice of zazen - sitting meditation - tracing the roots of the word back to the Sanskrit "dhyana". But rather than just being a technique, Zazen really refers to what we find when we meditate and enquire into the reality of our present-moment experience. Mark unpacks both the traditional physical postures of zazen (on a chair, kneeling, or cross-legged) and how this physicality itself becomes an embodiment of the enquiry in an awake, alert and relaxed awareness. He finishes by showing you how you can ground your attention in the physical sensations or the breath to provide the space to ask the deepest question of all: Who am I?
