Hello my dear,
This meditation is all about up-leveling your self-awareness.
So I'd like you to get comfortable in your chair and start to relax.
Take a deep breath and place your feet flat on the floor,
Really feeling your feet in contact with the ground beneath you.
Take a few more deep breaths.
Now I'd like you to focus on your toes.
Scrunch them up a wee bit and then release.
Now relax your ankles,
Your calf muscles,
Your knees,
Your thigh muscles.
So that any thoughts you may have drift on by and away from you.
Now relax your backside,
Your pelvic area.
Begin to notice any tension you may have in your back.
Breathe deeply in and as you breathe out,
Slowly relax and release any tension you may have in your back.
Now your shoulders,
Lift them up a wee bit and then release completely.
Beautiful.
Now it's time to relax your neck and your jaw muscles.
Take a deep breath in and as you breathe out,
Let go of any tension you may be holding in your neck and jaw.
And now the top of your head.
I'd like you to gently lift your shoulders once more and as you release your shoulders,
Any remaining tension can sink down and flow out of you.
Become aware of what's going on in your mind in this moment.
Observe the thoughts as if they were soft clouds floating across the sky of your mind.
Don't put the thoughts down to engage them,
Simply allow them to pass by.
Notice any deeper feelings or emotions that arise.
We're not trying to change any of this.
Simply observe and hold it in your awareness.
Acknowledge that you are not your thoughts or your feelings.
You are something so much deeper than that.
Now turn your attention to awareness itself.
Become aware of your own awareness.
The knowingness that lets you perceive all of this.
The inner spaciousness that holds together all the sensations,
Feelings and thoughts that make up your experience in this moment.
Focus your attention on your own awareness.
Experience your awareness with your awareness and notice how calming and peaceful it feels.
Now gently sit your mind in this place of nourishing stillness.
Let yourself be that stillness.
Now gently notice your breathing.
Cool air coming in through your nostrils.
Warm air going out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Slowly and gently taking your time.
Coming back to an awake state.
When you're ready,
Softly blinking your eyes open.
Wrapping up this process.
This would be a lovely time to take out your journal and write a few sentences of your experience with this self-awareness meditation.
Much love to you.
