Transcript

Hi everyone,

Welcome.

Today we are going to practice vocal toning together.

This practice gives us an opportunity to connect with our internal qualities with heightened awareness.

With our loving attention turned inward,

We'll get a chance to take an inventory of our inner worlds,

Creating vibrations that resonate throughout the body's energy centers.

We'll start with A for the root,

Our center for security,

Safety,

And the sense of belonging.

We'll then move to O for the sacral center from which our creativity swirls.

Up to O for the solar plexus,

Where our willpower and our life force are generated.

Next we'll tone the heart center with A,

Opening our center for compassion,

Purification,

And love.

Followed by I for the throat,

Which governs our communication and our relationships.

Then moving to A for the third eye,

Our seat of intuition and inner guidance and wisdom.

Up to E for the crown,

Which nurtures our connection to higher realms of consciousness and everything that is source.

The practice itself is a way of connecting with the inner world.

The practice itself is super simple.

We're going to be taking deep breaths and vocalizing on the exhale.

You can breathe whenever you need to,

Listening to your body as the guide.

When you hear the sound of the instrument start to fade,

That will be your cue that we're moving on to the next vowel shape.

All right,

Let's go ahead and find a comfortable position.

And we can start to tap into the quality of our inner landscape,

Connecting to whatever brought you to the practice today.

Perhaps it's a sense of empowerment you seek through activating your voice.

Or maybe you're calling in a feeling of higher receptivity and clarity of thought.

Whatever it is,

Go ahead and connect with that intention now.

Before we begin,

We'll take a few deep,

Calm,

And cleansing breaths together.

First,

Exhaling all the air out of our lungs,

Every last bit.

And taking a deep inhale down into the belly,

And holding it for three,

Two,

One,

And exhale.

All the air out.

Another deep inhale down into the belly,

And holding it for three,

Two,

One,

And exhale.

All the air out.

Deep inhale,

Expanding the belly,

Filling up the chest and the lungs,

Sipping in a little bit more.

A little bit more,

And holding it for three,

Two,

One,

And releasing all the air out.

Every last bit of air,

Contracting the belly to push out every last sip.

Taking one last deep breath down into the belly,

Expanding into the chest and lungs,

And releasing all the air out.

Down into the belly,

Expanding into the chest and lungs,

Opening into the collarbones and the face,

Sipping in a little bit more.

A little bit more,

And holding for three,

Two,

One,

And let it all go as you let your body arrive ever deeper into the present moment.

Letting your breath return to whatever pace feels natural.

We'll start by bringing our attention to the base of our spine,

And we'll begin by toning with the vowel shape of a,

Like U-H,

Taking a deep breath down into the belly.

Beautiful,

Taking a deep breath,

And exhaling,

Shifting our attention up into the sacral region.

We'll tone with U,

Like two O's,

Taking a deep breath down into the belly.

Carlos S wrapping his half right side into the mouth You You You You Taking a deep breath down into the belly and letting it go You Continuing to bring our attention further up to the solar plexus We'll tone with the vowel shape of O-O-H Taking a deep breath down into the belly O-O-H O-O-H O-O-H O-O-H O-O-H O-O-H Taking a deep inhale and letting it go Relaxing the face,

The jaw,

The neck,

The shoulders Turning your attention to your heartbeat,

Your heart center We'll tone the heart center with AH like an A-H Connecting with your heartbeat,

Taking a deep breath down into the belly AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH Beautiful.

Bringing our awareness up into the throat We'll tone the throat with the vowel shape of I It'll feel a bit nasally,

Taking a deep breath down into your belly AH AH AH AH AH AH AH Inviting your attention up into the space between your two eyebrows We'll focus this toning of the third eye with the vowel shape of A like A-Y-E Taking a deep breath down into the belly AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH Bringing our attention up to our crown,

Space right above your head will tone with E like two Es Taking a deep breath down into the belly AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH Taking a deep breath down into your belly And exhale all the air out AH Slowly start bringing your awareness into your fingertips and your toes Inviting some soft subtle movement into the body as we begin to transition out of the practice Moving gently and ever so slowly You're invited now to invoke a sense of gratitude for the practice,

For the part of you that chose to show up for yourself today For the part of you who can anchor your intention into reality Staying wholesomely connected to your inner world as we embark on the rest of our day You're encouraged now to thank that part of you Asking it humbly,

What do I want to vibrate out into the world?

How can I let this resonance settle so deeply into my being that I can then go share it with others?

May the vibrations you created throughout this practice continue to settle in to every cell of your being As you continue to calibrate your internal landscape with your own loving awareness Gently invite your eyes to float open And bring your vibration out into the world

This was lovely! I appreciate the ease and depth of this session. I have done a similar practice with the Sanskrit mantras and enjoyed this iteration immensely. Thank you for the dedication of your practice and for sharing it with others. 🙏💕

I love this practice. Although it feels strange and not used to hear my own voice coming out of me in this way, I gently embrace the energetic feeling I have now afterwards.

I you have not been able to connect with the power of mantra in the past, try this. It’s a powerful, simple and beautiful practice that helps you feel the immediate benefit of balancing your chakras, your subtle nervous system, while also opening yourself to the whispers of a higher power connected to your soul. ✨🙏💖 Sat Nam and so many blessings for this gift of a practice.

Really interesting because I had previously only used the ‘traditional’ sounds (lam vam ram etc) for chakra work. This worked well for me, especially in the throat chakra. Grateful thanks, I’ll be back.
