Let's begin standing.
So find yourself standing with your feet about hips width distance apart and your knees are gently bent,
Your feet are flat on the ground and do a little rock back and forth from heel to toe,
Activating all the corners of the feet so that you feel as much contact with the ground as possible.
See if you can spread the toes and press them into the ground,
Lift up onto the toes so the heels come up and slowly drop down bit by bit onto the heels lifting the toes up as much as you can and going back and forth like that a couple of times up onto the toes and down flat feet and then back onto the heels and you're focused on your feet but you might notice as you do this how the weight pivots back and forth.
The center of gravity is moving as you shift back and forth.
Then come to center and stillness.
Gentle bend in the knees,
Tailbone is dropped down towards the ground so the pelvic bowl is slightly tilted upwards that means that the hips are slightly tilted up as the tailbone slightly tips down but let the belly be soft,
Let the shoulders be soft and let the face and jaw be soft.
Sense into alignment at the back of the skull with the back of the heart and the back of the tailbone down to the back of the heels and now as you feel your feet feeling the entire outline of each foot flat on the ground.
Allow yourself to relax into the breath.
Focus on the breath allowing it to come in and out full tide.
Each wave of breath washes all the way up onto the shore and then slowly recedes at its own pace.
The body is breathing all on its own.
As you relax into the body breathing all on its own without your effort,
Your effort is just to sit back and let it do its thing.
And as you do,
Let your attention drift to your feet.
Imagine that with each breath you draw in and out through the feet.
Feel the great energy of the earth almost as if a magnet is holding you,
The great force of attraction through your feet.
Breathe that energy up through the ankles and the knees and the hips and the pelvic bowl,
Up through the diaphragm and into the heart.
And notice if there's a sensation of rocking back and forth or side to side that begins to emerge.
So you don't need to encourage that rocking,
You're just allowing the body to do its thing if it comes on its own.
Just let it happen.
Notice the tailbone relationship to the heels,
The tailbone relationship to the back of the heart and the shoulder blades,
The crown of the head.
See if you can sense an openness there behind the eyes,
Feeling as much stability through your feet as you can.
Knees are soft.
Imagine yourself with trees around you.
Their roots stretch into the soil below your feet and their energy and their communication takes place underground,
Underneath you.
And breathe in the benevolence of the trees.
And feel yourself here in this moment of pause,
Feeling the power of pause to notice earth energy.
And in that pause,
See if you can call in a general sense of your current state,
Your current situation,
Not just this moment,
But also how things are lately in this time.
And as you draw from the earth,
Notice how you might relate what is being given to you through the energy of the earth with how you need to be fed.
Place what is needing healing in the lap of the earth.
Place your stress,
Your questions,
And your discomforts in the lap of the earth,
Letting the outside breath rock down through your legs and into your feet and into the earth.
Hold in your mind a question.
Who do I want to be with this?
Who do I want to be as I go through this?
And then rather than straining for answers,
Just stay in a posture of listening,
Allowing whatever swaying is happening in your body to continue.
Just pausing with earth energy,
Pausing with your discomfort,
Your stress,
The things in you that need healing.
Notice what arises.
Let the belly be soft.
Bend into the knees.
Bend into the knees and feel all the edges of the feet.
Lift the toes and drop them down.
Gently bob up and down as you bend more deeply into your knees,
Preparing to open your eyes.
And look slowly around the room.
You can lift one foot and the other and shake out your arms and your hands.
