Welcome to a new day.
Find a place to sit or lay down where you will be undisturbed for the next short while.
Take a moment to tune into the environment within your own body,
Both physically and emotionally.
Gently stretch the jaw muscles,
Opening the jaw wide and then gently side to side.
Close the mouth but keep your jaw relaxed.
Begin to focus on your breath,
Breathing in and out of your nose.
Breathe in slowly,
Holding your breath at the top for as long as feels comfortable.
And then exhale even more slowly with calm,
Controlled breath,
Maybe letting out a hum.
Again,
Inhale slowly,
Holding at the top.
Exhale as slowly as possible,
Calm and controlled.
Once more,
A full inhale,
Holding at the top.
And exhale as slow as possible,
Maybe releasing a hum and any tension from within the body.
Return to your natural breath,
Focusing on the air,
Passing in and out of the nostrils.
Exhale fully,
Pulling in the diaphragm,
Expelling all the air.
And then feeling the stomach fill on the inhale.
Continue to focus on your breath as you breathe at your own pace.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the busyness of our lives that we take for granted some of the greatest blessings within it.
A warm bed to sleep in,
Food to eat,
Support of loved ones.
Begin to think of three things that you are grateful for today.
Come back to focusing on your breath while you sit with this feeling of gratitude.
Begin to think of two things you want to accomplish in the day ahead.
Decide when you will complete these tasks and think of the feeling of success you will have when they are complete.
Put one hand on your belly and the other hand on your heart and take five deep breaths,
Inhaling from your belly to your chest and exhaling fully,
Pulling in the diaphragm and expelling all the air.
Again,
Inhale from your belly to your chest and exhale fully.
Repeat three more times at your own pace.
Place your hands in front of your heart and rub your palms together,
Generating some warmth.
Place the palms of your hands gently over your eyes,
Applying some pressure and then continue to apply some gentle pressure with the palms to your forehead,
Your cheeks and your jaw.
I wish you a powerful day.
Thanks for sitting with me.
