This meditation is designed for those times when you know you want to move forward with a goal, a dream, a vision, but you just find yourself always saying something along the lines of "Yes, but..." With this meditation you are encouraged to shift that old story and allow yourself to move into a new version, one without the "but". It's a gentle reminder to always continue to move forward, no matter how long it takes. Come on. Your soul says, it's time.

Welcome to an integrative wisdom guided meditation,

Letting go of your butt.

This meditation is designed to assist in moving you in the direction you have been longing for.

This longing that you know so well,

It's become a part of you.

And in point of fact,

This familiarity may be the very reason you are finding it so tough to take the next step.

In fact,

You recognize that as soon as you have said to yourself that you plan to achieve a specific goal,

You then hear the other face,

The one that says something to the effect of,

Yeah,

Sure,

But.

.

.

And at this point,

You play back the litany of all the reasons this won't work,

Won't happen,

No matter what you do.

If this sounds familiar,

Then please allow yourself the next few minutes to tune in.

It's time.

So here we go.

Begin by finding that comfortable spot to sit or lie down in.

That spot where you won't be disturbed,

Where you are free to set down the responsibilities of the world for this brief moment of support and encouragement.

As you find that sweet spot,

Take a deep breath,

The breath you have been holding onto for a while now.

Breathe in and out,

Fully and completely,

With awareness of how amazing it feels.

As you breathe,

Begin to release any tension you feel in your body,

Allowing yourself to scan head to toe,

In search of those tight places,

The ones you sensed were there,

But perhaps have not yet taken the time to soothe.

Do this now.

As you begin to feel the changes within,

From breathing and letting go of the tenseness,

Take the next few breaths to clear your mind of thoughts or worries that you have carried with you into this healing meditation.

You are well aware that any of these thoughts or worries will find their way back to you,

If they are still important at the end of our time together.

If you find a few stubborn thoughts that cling annoyingly,

Simply acknowledge these are here and that you choose to ignore them for now.

Breathing in and breathing out,

We acknowledge that we have arrived fully into this meditation.

And let us take a moment to set an intention.

Perhaps something along the lines of,

I release the butt that is holding me back.

Let us say this together.

I release the butt that is holding me back.

And one more time.

I release the butt that is holding me back.

With this intention in mind,

Let us acknowledge the power within this statement.

We may not know how this will truly play out in our day to day experience,

Yet we recognize that there are those who say thoughts are things and that they carry power.

We are consciously opening the portal to that place we see in our mind's eye,

But as yet have been unable to reach.

Take a moment to reflect on a goal or situation you have been wanting to change.

Once you have it in mind,

You may recognize there may be more than one.

But for now,

You choose this one.

As you recognize the issue,

The goal,

Or the longing presenting itself,

Take a moment to acknowledge it.

In the quiet of your mind,

Welcome it by naming it.

My desire for,

My longing to,

My goal or my wish.

However,

You choose to address it.

Take a moment to recognize the sacredness of this calling.

And trust that your being here is a sign that your soul wants to assist you in gaining clarity.

In order to take the steps that it is time for you to take.

Breathe in deeply and yet easily.

And again.

And as you move ever more fully into this moment of grace,

Of potential,

Recognize that today is a brand new day.

And that in fact,

Every day is a new opportunity.

While you are now ready to claim.

You recognize this day,

This moment is different.

It's never been quite like this.

As you have never shown up so completely,

So open,

So engaged with the possibilities,

The fresh breath of air surrounding your desire.

Take the next few breaths to drop deeper into the stillness.

Touch the core of your longing.

If you sense your mind is trying to pull you back into the old routine of telling yourself,

Yes,

But simply acknowledge this old storm and choose instead a new storm.

One that leads you into the joy and grace of steps for you.

Ever flowing one step at a time.

Bringing you closer and closer to your heart's desire.

Take the next few breaths to claim your forward progress and to express gratitude that you are here.

Remember that every day is a new opportunity.

It's never been quite like this before.

Sense the potential,

Breathe it in.

Claim your progress step by step.

As long as you are moving,

It will take as long as it takes.

And that is just fine.

Remind yourself you have chosen to be here to shift from the old story of yes,

But into your new story of yes,

Indeed what will your new story be?

Yes,

I will.

Yes,

I am.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

In whatever way you choose to say it,

You have chosen to take these steps forward.

Moving,

Always moving ever closer to your soul's calling.

Allow yourself to celebrate each step you have taken and will continue to take.

Celebrate that you showed up.

Listen deeply and took action.

And determine as you prepare to end this focus meditation to continue celebrating each step until your goal has been met.

And then imagine how you will mark the completion.

May that moment be met with gusto.

And now allow yourself a few more deep breaths.

Open your eyes and smile.

And as we end our time together,

Here's a toast to you and each new step forward.
